"This dojo impresses me as a hidden gem in NYC That is, a select group of men and women train in a basement under a building and train tracks whom are with robust knowledge, experience, and good will. Sounds somewhat gritty, right? Well, it is- in good and valuable ways. I try to go there once per week since the summer of '23 and have a 45-60 minute drive there. It's worth the trek for anyone with a thirst or curiosity in learning grappling arts and jiu jitsu. Especially satisfying are Wednesdays and Fridays where multiple classes are available for whomever truly enjoys fundamentals and advanced practice. A highlight is professor Quinn's teaching methodology. He instructs using task and outcomes based training where games are used to rapidly learn the procedures with actual resistance and outcomes. One more quality is the openness of the gym and people where "outsiders" are welcome. Kudos to Queens Jiu Jitsu, professor Quinn, and colleagues for their continued efforts in bolstering a thriving grappling community."

"While visiting NYC, I was staying in Astoria Queens and had the chance to stop into Queens Jiu Jitsu. First of all: very easy to get to as its located right next to the train station and there's a parking lot in the back. I've visited a bunch of schools while traveling and I always have to tolerate a bunch of "filler" in the classes: running in a circle, doing jumping jacks etc. Here, the coach warmed us up by playing games that actually make you better at Jiu Jitsu. The head coach is very experienced and took the time to answer all of my questions even though I was just visiting. The overall vibe of the academy is great and the students are very welcoming - lots of technical rolls and no meathead atmosphere that you get at some gyms. Hope to be back one day!"

"I’ve been training jiu-jitsu, striking and MMA (and have competed in all three) for an extremely long time and I can confidently say this is one of the best academies you will encounter. The instruction of head coach Ryan Quinn is second to none in the city as the techniques are constantly being workshopped on high level athletes along with his unique ability to break it down piece by piece so you get the technique as properly intended (and so it actually works earlier in your attempts). The environment is welcoming and fun, the training is designed to get everyone better and the experience of students who have come here is universally considered positive. If you’re trying to get better at any efficient martial art in the Queens area, this is the spot."

"Queens Jiu Jitsu very cliché changed my life. I moved from Miami to NYC looking to find a place where I could genuinely get really good at Jiu Jitsu but also find a community of people that I wanted to be surrounded by. I found more than that, Quinn and the rest of the team at Queens Jiu Jitsu opened their doors for me and never looked back. I improved my skills to levels I wasn’t aware I could push myself to achieve. Most importantly I gained a family, a family that to this day I think of everyday even being halfway across the country. If you’re wanting to try Jiu Jitsu or you’re already an experienced practitioner look no further."

"Queens Jiu Jitsu has been my training ground for the past two years, and I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. The technical and competitive training they offer is top-notch, constantly pushing me to improve. What truly stands out is the inclusive and supportive environment they provide, catering to individuals of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or advanced practitioner, you'll find a welcoming community that fosters growth and camaraderie. Highly recommended for anyone looking to excel in the world of Jiu Jitsu."
