Reviews
"My son was discharged from the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at Cleveland Clinic yesterday. They were a blessing from heaven. They got him in within a week of me calling, they got him full financial aid because he hadn't been able to work due to the seizures, and they got us answers when 2 other hospitals told us he was perfectly fine. They are a research hospital , so they did want to trigger a seizure so they could actually see what part of his brain it was coming from, but we got extremely lucky and they were able to see the seizure activity while he was sleeping, and where it was coming from.. I am afraid to think of where we would be right now without this place."
"The best epilepsy care a person could obtain. The entire staff is phenomenal. The doctors are compassionate, kind and extremely supportive. Treatment plans are detailed and explained thoroughly throughout one’s stay. Highly highly recommend CCF."
"Very lovely humans who work here at the Epilepsy Center. Nurses, support staff, and doctors are kind, friendly and professional (and they know their stuff!). They make the Cleveland Clinic look like the world class institution that it is. Highly recommend."
"⚠️⚠️⚠️Do NOT go here.⚠️⚠️⚠️ They DO infact preform tests to trigger an episode/seizure, and while you're having one they will come in to witness and then just leave. And that is if you are able to hit your button while seizing, because if not they'll never even know you had one. Then IF you survive, the "doctor" will see you in the morning to go over your episode. If he/she doesn't know what it is or what triggered it, she'll "diagnose" you with a psychological disorder. I was diagnosed with "anxiety" by a "neurologist" and treated like I was crazy and depressed afterwards. She was also willing to write me a prescription to take daily to "cure" my episodes.. psych meds which are highly addictive for an untrue, bs diagnosis. The entire experience was absolutely humiliating and degrading. Where do you go once the "best clinic in the world" turns out to be an absolute joke? I am still having episodes.. and right back to where I started. If it is not an easy diagnosis, they will take no initiative to help you or figure it out; instead, blame it on you. Dr. Jehi is an absolute joke, and the fact this "hospital" gets away with their methods of "treatment" is disgusting. The Positives: the nursing staff was amazing, attentive and compassionate.. and very quick to respond to call lights and seizure alerts. Mel was amazing, as well as the aids and other nurses. I've been on this journey to get treated for years now and this was by far the best I was ever treated by nursing staff. I also understand why they need to induce seizures, but the treatment and response needs to have better methods. Disclaimer: I very well could have had an anxiety attack while I was there, but I have had episodes witnessed by St. Joe's in Warren, OH that disproves that my episodes are anxiety or panic attacks.. which this doctor would have know if she read more than just my name on my charts. I am just extremely disheartened and defeated by my pitiful experience here with the doctor and my bull-hokey diagnosis. She based my diagnosis off having a high heart rate.. which is baffling. To anyone who goes here, please make sure someone is with you the entire 3-5 stay who is aware and has witnessed your episodes. Good luck to you and I hope your experience is better than mine and the others who have left disappointed, embarrassed or never made it home from this unit."
"I've had the unfortunate experience of visiting hospitals uncountable times since birth. So my visit here seemed mundane until I got here. The nursing staff in this unit is barr none the best I've ever seen. Every single nurse was fantastic. However, Angelica, Sarah and Nicole stood out as being the most compassionate and caring nurses I've ever seen. They are wonderful people. Thank You so much!!!!! Michael & Ava"
