"A beautiful and unique location overlooking a gorge for spectacular views. The house is also beautiful and unique with its combination of a modern center and two log cabin wings. Built by a well known historian who wrote a number of classic works on the Civil War ( Burke Davis), this location will appeal to both nature and history buffs. Finally, the host's attention to detail and hospitality is exceptional so you are sure to enjoy your stay!"

"My friends and I spent a long weekend here in October, and I could not have asked for a better place to do it! From the second you drive onto the property, you feel like you are driving up to your own private mountain house surrounded by nature. As soon as you walk into the house, there are big picture windows that immediately draw you to an amazing view of the Blue Ridge Mountains ahead. Walk outside, and there is your own private overlook with benches looking out over the entire horizon. I could honestly sit there for hours watching the clouds move through the mountains and give way to an amazing sunset. However, it is also beautiful inside the house. There’s plenty of space for a large group and you feel almost like you’re in a log cabin. I got the opportunity to sleep in the very old part of the house (that was built in the 1800s by the owner’s great great grandparents!) and I woke up thinking I was back in the days of the Revolutionary War (think wooden beams and fireplaces… so cozy!) Speaking of the owners, Brian and Clara are also extremely caring, keep the property in great shape, and will listen to any feedback you have. I will definitely return!"

"I have had the pleasure of staying at Tsuga on the Ridge this past fall and had an amazing time. The house is so well outfitted and Brian and Clara were super helpful, responsive, and thought of everything we could need. The views were beautiful and we loved the yard and grounds. The history of the house was captivating and truly added to our stay. The location is close to a great winery and cute town with book shops and cafes. I can’t wait for my next trip up to this magical mountain get away. I highly recommend it to all of my friends."

"Our week long visits to Tsuga have been pure delight. The tree lined driveway leads to a lovely house that only hints at the beauty beyond the front door. The home is tastefully decorated with comfortable furniture, meaningful decorations, warm wooden floors and rustic yet modern bathroom fixtures. The kitchen is stocked as though the family actually lives in residence versus the normal rental provisions, and the hosts make sure that you won't have to make a run to the store if you've forgotten your basic toiletries. I've never felt so pampered. As remote as the area is, I was pleasantly surprised at the numerous sites and activities available. Hiking, shopping, touring, and imbibing are all available as well as musical treats. But you don't need to leave the house to be impressed, just walk out to the back porch and take in the incredible view of the distant mountains. Rain or shine, the vista never disappoints. I didn't want to leave, and I can't wait to return."
