"Confused why people are saying they are rude... I came here to get wood and it was at a really great and affordable price, way better and easier than going to Home Depot. I don’t care about customer service YET EVEN STILL when I started speaking Chinese their faces lit up and they were the friendliest of people. I think those who are expecting some airplane-level customer service or something are having ridiculous expectations, and also lack the cultural sensitivity."

"Well-stocked lumberyard and hardware store, great prices for Manhattan. Cash only. In my experience, not especially service-oriented. They seem more geared to working with professional builders than to working with home-improvement/project-oriented hobbyists. I wanted a board for a bookshelf cut to size, which they gladly did for a $1/cut fee, completely accurately. But when I asked if they could also cut me a couple of strips from the unused remainder board to use for supporting my shelf on each side, the answer was a flat (and sort of unfriendly) no. I would still recommend shopping here, and it's an experience just to walk through and see how they work with their space. It's like a journey back in time. But don't expect any hand-holding."

"A bit difficult to find your way through the place or locate what you need but just ask and they will help you find it, and they will have it somewhere. It looks like they have everything but maybe have had some of it for a while. These guys put Home Depot to shame the way they utilize their space."

"If you are thinking about coming here to buy wood for a DIY project do not. They will not cut pieces for you and will not recommend any place that can but they will suggest that you buy one of their handsaws. The employees are rude and unhelpful. I asked them a few questions like "what size nails do you recommend with this thickness of wood" and received the response "you do the thinking, not us". Additionally, the store is an absolute mess and most likely a safety hazard with stacks and stacks of wood and metal lining all the hallways."

"Great spot - through a maze of lumber, there is a well stocked hardware store with friendly service. Been here 30-ish years and it shows, they know what they’re doing."
