"If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. They denied me my fiance and my 1 year old child a home because of charges I received 5 YEARS AGO !!!! They could help a small struggling family start there lives but instead they help them stay homeless. THANKS FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT WASTING OUR TIME AND GETTING OUR HOPES UP. As for your "Fair housing laws"...Just because you can see it does not mean your decision has to be solely based on people's mistakes. I'm a mother who's trying to make a life for my child. That's what you could have seen and used to make your decision. You could have pushed us through and gave us a chance. You didn't. Just remember sometimes giving people a chance at making a life isn't such a horrible thing and some people deserve a chance. Be humble in your decisions moving forward when the next person who deserves a chance comes along."

"My daughter and her family stayed in these apartments from Jul 22 until this past month when they had to move into a hotel until we could find them a suitable place to live. The family was always sick, my son-in-law even had to seek treatment for neuro problems that no one could identify a reason for. After pulling out her vent coverings and looking into the duck work, my daughter realized the home was full of black mold. When she brought it to the apartment manager's attentions she was told the issue was low priority. Her neighbor had a problem with sewage backing up and about four weeks ago my daughter started having the same issue. They could not even shower. Again the property manager told her it was low priority. It was at that point that they moved into a hotel as there was not way to shower or clean. When my daughter called to leave a forwarding address for her deposit return, the property manager made a snide negative remark and hung up on her. Do not stay here. It is not worth your health. I have added a picture of the bathtub from sewage that cannot be cleaned out because as it drains, more comes in."

"I had rented there last year. It was a horrible renting experience; especially being my first apartment. I was sick going on the 9 months because of black mold growing in my shower since day one! I had called the office many of times about my problem and no one wanted to fix the problem at hand. I had finally had enough to where I didn't pay rent due to them not fixing it. We went to court and the judge didn't want to see any of the 'damage' or the doctor visits etc. Now I am being charged $1600 for 'damages'. Its been hell! If you do decided to go there keep every paper, take pictures of everything when you move in and when you move out! Update: I hired a paralegal to take care of everything as Highland Hills was trying to charge more than the $1600. I ended up paying off the $1600 and went to court and the judge dismissed the rest of the charges."
