"Went in yesterday with my soon to be fiancé to see if we could potentially build or buy a ring. The way we were treated in my opinion was ridiculous. Once we told the jeweler our budget ($4000) he completely shut down and offered absolutely nothing in the way of a “professional” opinion and made us feel small and unworthy to even be in the store. Thank you Cowardin’s for taking what should have been a happy and magical experience and making it a soul crushing one. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless you have a budget in the 10s of thousands and can give that jerk a huge commission."

"I just lost my husband in November after 25 years of marriage. On top of grieving him...my engagement ring is worn and thinning out to the point, I can't wear it because it could break and, I can't take the chance of losing it. I was referred to Cowardin in order to get my ring repaired. I walked in and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by a sales person. When I showed my ring the only thing he wanted me to do was "buy another ring". I explained to him that wasn't an option and this ring HAD to be fixed. He then told me that it was too worn out to be fixed. He said I had prongs missing (I didn't) and other things that weren't true. So...my opinion....they won't help you with anything that has sentimental value....they are only interested in padding their pockets. Because after he turned me away without any consideration to what I was telling him.....I found a small family owned business that IS going to fix my ring. So....I KNOW it was able to be fixed...Cowardin just didn't want to bother helping."

The screw backs tended to fall off, and other jewelers have tried to swindle me into resetting the diamonds and other services I didn’t need. Cowardin’s has always treated me with the same respect and kindness as their older customers and provide excellent service, even when I walked in after working at a bakery with an icing-stained apron.
