"If this score could be zero - Clair's would not even have one star. The girls wanted to purchase 6 piece of jewelry. These pieces were advertised as buy three get three free. When the girls got up to the register the cashier told the girls the price was $60.00 for all 6 pieces. However, none of the pieces were as advertised and the girls did not initally understand this before tring to check out. The girls did a spilt transaction so they could get the discount on all their items. My daughter paid with cash and her friend paid with a card that she beleived has $90.00 on it. My daughter and her friend realized, at some point during the transaction, the purchase was more then what they had. Both, girls told the cashier "we don't have enough for the items and would not be able purchase it." The cashier stated she post voided the transaction from the card, but did not give my daughter back the cash. The cashier told the girls "if you don't have anything else please move on." My daughter told the cashier that she still needs her cash back and she was not moving until she get her cash back. The cashier throw the cash at my daughter. FIRST, I have a problem in how poorly this was handle by the cashier. You never throw money at a customer. SECONDLY, if you advertized the hair and jewlery peices as buy three get three free you should have honored it. THIRDLY, people have disabilities, whether you are aware of this or not, does not give you the right to treat or take advange of anyone. It is extremely important to be patient and honest with everyone who patrons your store. FINALLY, I will never recommend anyone to patronage this store after this incident and the lack of character the staff member demonstrated. The patrons of your store should be able to count on the integrity of your staff - such as honest and demonstrate courtesy to all. If you can't do this then your store should be shut down."

"Took my daughter here yesterday. I was greeted by the most disorganized mess of a store. Many items had fallen off hooks and were laying on the floor, inventory was sitting in boxes laying about, the floor had not been vacuumed in a very long time and was cluttered with food particles and dirt, and the air smelled of cigarettes. The staff were standing at checkout eating snacks and seemed unconcerned about the disarray. I couldn’t believe the state of this store. I just regret not taking photos."

"Claire’s is the affordable among many pricey stores at Short Pump Mall. Customer service is good and merchandise caters to a diverse clientele."

"DO NOT PIERCE YOUR BABY'S EARS HERE. I took my 11month old daughter to have her ears pierced at the Short Pump Location. Firstly, they do not pierce both ears at the same time. So naturally when its time to pierce the second ear an infant will squirm and protest. This makes its hard for the employee to mark the ear and align the cartridge gun. The result- two unlevel piercings. I removed the earring and allowed my daughters ear time to heal before re-piercing it. HOWEVER, on the second attempt the gun jammed with earring halfway through her ear. Against my better judgement the employee proceeded to do another piercing and she failed to align it with hole she had just made. It was the same employee, Porsche, who did the above piercing on both occasions. I strongly feel there is a lack of competence, not enough attention to detail and they should not be doing any piercings on infants."
