"The place is not bad. Serving sizes are great. I’ve been here a few times so I know what I’m getting. However, my server Yvonne was just too impatient and rude. Idk if she thought calling me baby 25 times was going to cover up the fact that she was rude. Very nice to the table in front of me though. You could tell the difference. Very short with me on any thing I asked for when that’s literally your job to answer questions. I went this morning. And I ordered pancakes that never came ."
"Breakfast like your grandmother would make! Do not miss an opportunity to eat here, the service is great and the food is even better. The price to portion ratio is outstanding, you get a ton of great food for a reasonable price. I will keep coming back and I highly recommend it!"
"Tommy's is an incredible down home breakfast and lunch place. From what I understand, it's a local legend in Hampton. I have eaten here twice while in town for Supernova, and both experiences have been irreproachable and delicious. The place is usually full from open to close, but their hard-working staff flips the tables fast and gets you served with efficiency and friendliness. Tommy's is fantastic. From their breakfast food to their incredible seafood, you can't go wrong with any menu item. I can personally vouch for the eggs breakfasts, the fried catfish, and especially the heavenly shrimp and grits. Ohhh boy was that good. Loved it all and will certainly return anytime I am visiting the area!"
"Tried this place randomly for the first time last week. I was in Hampton for a football game and didn’t want to wait to get back to Virginia Beach to eat. The wait was fine, I thought it would take long but it didn’t. However, I ordered the steak breakfast meal they offered and my steak was recooked twice and still wasn’t right. When offered for my steak to be cooked again for a 3rd time, I politely declined. My daughter ordered a breakfast biscuit with turkey bacon and cheese eggs, she liked it ; my niece got the French toast and again, she liked it as well. Overall everything was okay, even with my food not being properly prepared. The manager made it right. The biggest turn off about this restaurant is that they don’t accept cards of any sort…. Debit/visa/Mastercard, NOTHING. It’s only cash or checks. This was a huge inconvenience for me due to me not carrying cash."
