"Our 4 year old loved her time at JB Columbia! The building feels safe tucked away in a neighborhood and it has a huge outdoor play space. She described her teacher, Ms. Lee, as “kind” and there was a smiling Mrs. Nguluwe during drop off and pickup. Their learning material always seemed interesting & our daughter would excitedly & proudly show us what she worked on for the week. She learned all of her letter sounds & could sound out simple words by the end of the year! This environment worked well with her independent nature & she made lots of friends!"

"My daughter started at Julia Brown in January 2021 and she absolutely loves it! With everything going on with the pandemic, the teachers/staff make sure that everyone stays safe. I feel so comfortable knowing that my daughter is safe at school and getting a great education. This school is great for kids' academic, social, and emotional growth-I recommend it to anyone!!!"

"After many years of at- home ‘Mommy’ school, my little princess was finally old enough for kindergarten. I was admittedly a bit nervous about her going to school and I spent a lot of time researching and visiting schools to ensure the perfect fit for our family. It’s been a few months now and despite COVID and other adjustments, my little princess is doing very well at JBS (Columbia). I am so grateful to be apart of this school community. Her teacher (Ms. Pinkney) is energetic, highly- skilled, and compassionate. The administrator (Ms. Nguluwe) is full of kindness and patience. The entire staff is wonderful. My daughter comes home everyday with delightful stories about her teachers, friends, and all the cool things she’s learning - she loves school:) I highly recommend this school."

"We started our son at the Julia Brown School in Columbia in August 2021 and couldn't be happier with our experience so far. Despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, the teachers have gone above and beyond to make sure the kids stay safe and healthy and can still learn in person as much as possible. The toddler class and teachers have been fantastic at helping our pandemic baby adjust to life with his peers and he is always coming home with new skills (counting from 1-10 in Spanish, identifying parts of plants and signing to name a few) to show us. We would highly recommend the Julia Brown School to any new parents looking for a Montessori environment for their little ones."

"I have had a great experience at the Columbia Julia Brown Montessori school. I chose a montessori school as I think it allows for children to discover things on their own and fosters a special love of learning. The toddler room where my daughter started was nurturing and it was a great transition from home. Her teacher and the school principal were so kind, caring, and supportive of our daughter and myself. They made the transition seamless. I always felt safe and at ease sending my daughter to school and within a few weeks she was fully potty trained as well. This is a very special school!"
