"I’ve lived here for almost a year now, everything has been great, no complaints. The office staff is always very nice and helpful. The rent price is all inclusive so it’s convenient not having to put an electric bill, cable bill, water/sewer in your name. Just found out on their site they also offer to report your rent payments to credit bureaus which can definitely help to boost your credit."

"100% recommend for students -- you will not find any other place in Plattsburgh this good. I've lived here on and off for around 4 years. Early on I loved it. It was cheap, the property was nice, I was staying with friends, everything was cool. Some of the staff at that time were pretty awful though and I originally had left a pretty bad review after multiple bad encounters. Summer rent at that time was just $270 a month and even though it's gone up it's still pretty low and perfect for students (it's cheaper than on-campus where they charge $30 per night). It's still pretty good here. They are working on renovating the units and the grounds are generally well-kept. The 'desk' by the window in the older units is too shallow to be a good computer desk so it is less of a desk and more of a counter and it can not be moved so purchasing a real desk isn't really an option given the limited space. I never have an issue with parking. There is plenty of storage in the kitchen. My room is large enough for my liking, though I lucked out on the bathroom as it is probably the smallest one. There are no pests on the 3rd floor but there are some crevices where some walls connect so you get the occasional critter. In the past I lived in a ground-level room and that was an issue for me. It gets really hot up on the 3rd floor so be prepared to be running fans all summer or get an AC unit. Winter is fine as heating is included and each room has a thermostat so you don't have to worry about fighting with your suite mates. There are bicycle racks around the lot but people do steal bikes in Plattburgh so make sure you lock yours well. For the price and having dedicated on-site parking for tenants, you really can not find anything in the area this good. One thing that I would like to see is the ability to pay the rent online. This was possible in the past but was probably difficult to track as it had to be manually entered into the system (I think) so they got rid of it and as as software contractor I know it's not always cheap to add things like that. On a side note not impacting my rating in this review, Spectrum is the internet provider (for pretty much all of Plattsburgh) and although it's out of control of RV, it is really a bummer that we can not have ethernet access as the wifi can be unreliable due to interference. There are rarely outages but the overall connection strength can be questionable. For example, using the microwave in the kitchen will cause network instability, especially for rooms farther from the router. The internet is quite fast but can become easily congested with 4+ concurrently connected devices, and add the interference issue and it's pretty rough at times. Typically ISPs like Spectrum are in control of the equipment and service, and we all know how god-awful it is to call for support.. so keep that in mind. On another side-note, if you are unsure between Renaissance Village Suites and Broadstreet Commons .. know that BSC has some serious issues such as: - people's stuff getting stolen/tossed from storage - poor leasing terms - terrible communication.. it will literally take 6 months to receive your deposit back, if you even get it back"

"That Robare guy is a liar. I've lived in Renaissance Village for 4years while attending school at PSU and still kept my apartment even after getting my job at the local hospital. I was in nursing school and really needed to study so I couldn't tolerate noisy roommates. The manager catered to my every need and made sure i had roomates who were a great fit. Even after graduating I was paired with professionals and not students which helped a great deal. Mike is like the best super in the world and I hope the owner knows that. He works with such passion and goes above and beyond to make sure whatever you need fixed is done. What saddens me is that he wont even take gifts and i dont feel like a Thank you is enough. If the owner ever reads this I hope you give him a raise for me.id say take that out of my deposit, but the 200 deposit is not even enough to tip him.I digress Summary Awesome all inclusive, private bathroom apartment + a great supervisor. It would be extremely great place to live if you have 2 to 3 friend who want to , live together and have the same taste. But be assured. You would. Find a great fit eventually"

"I have lived at Renaissance Village Suites twice. Once in 2011 and another time in 2014 for a total of a year and a half. Both when I was a student at SUNY Plattsburgh. I enjoyed the fact that Renaissance provided a shuttle to and from the SUNY campus and also had a day to take residents up to wal-mart for grocery shopping. It was very convenient. I really liked the staff and Beth was/is an absolute wonderful landlord. Whenever there was any issue (major or minor) she was quick and the entire staff were very helpful. I would suggest anyone who is considering moving off-campus to check out Renaissance and see if what they offer is right for you. In my opinion, It is much better than its competitor (college suites) and is much more affordable. --The response from the landlord from another post is somewhat worrying and not professional sounding at all, it does not in any way illustrate how they treated me or my friends, however I will admit it is worded that would scare people away--"

"Horrid place to live. I regret moving out of the dorms to go here. Small rooms, Terrible staff, worse than having a roommate. The property manager is a vulture who will quite literally hunt you down if you owe them any money (Seen it happen to a few friends, she is worse than rent-a-center) If something bad happens to you on their property and it would make them look bad they will do everything in their power to cover it up, Example given: One of my Asian exchange student friends had her suite and room door smashed down by a big guy and was raped, this never made it past renaissance village, who evicted her and made her have to move back home. This place is just super sketchy and a terrible experience all around. I do cannot ever recommend this to anyone in good conscience."
