"We booked a room for October 12th 2023 through Agoda. After driving the 7 hours from Central New York to ocean city, we arrived to find the lobby locked and no one there to check us in! They left a phone number on the sign to call but no one answered. We went across the street to the flamingo. They told us that at that time the simple life had been closed for 3 weeks! The flamingo got us a room thankfully. The simple life motel is very poorly managed. We are currently, a month later,still trying to get our money back. From the outside,it looked very dirty and unkempt. Sometimes it is worth it to spend a little extra....."
"Absolutely disgusting on how Albert the owner/ manager runs the motel. While checking in, we were given a one bed instead of a two bed. We were told that nothing else was available. After checking in, my daughter sat down on patio chair, that she wasn’t aware was broken in middle. She fell through and cut her back leg. Our refrigerator went down with three days to go at motel. Maintenance never came til checkout time."
"I wanted to give better ratings but the staff was horrible. Huge hole in our window screen. Tiniest bathroom with no water pressure. Asked for a different room and was denied. Management isnt very friendly and now dealing with them saying they never took a security deposit but we have the receipt. Great location but the sleep is rough and interrupted."
"Showed up the the motel and was told i needed a 200$ security deposit. Was told i’d have an ocean front view, i didnt. Walked in the room and it smelled like chemicals. The mini fridge didnt work, the bathroom was nasty and had toenails on the floor. The pillow cases and sheets also had stains on."
"Absolutely horrific. We smacked in the face with the smell of Marijuana as soon as we entered the office. Proceeded to check in as we entered our room we noticed the sliding door was broken there was a full cup of cigarettes on our deck. When I went to the clerk with my concerns I asked for a different room,there were none available. Maintaince came to check the slider that was off track and both locks were broken. We were told that there would be no refund issued and it was to their standards. However it definable wasn't up to ours. We suggest avoiding this hotel at all costs. Customer satisfaction or safety of their customers is definitely not a priority to the manager or staff. The manager is the one who had the final say in accommodating and refused to do so"
