"Comfortable, clean room and beds. Lovely hot shower. Quick check in. But room cold, discovered heating unplugged. Restaurant closed at 9pm instead of advertised 10pm. Also not enough towels provided. Man working on the bar was very helpful - thank you."

"All staff were friendly and helpful but I did not sleep because I suspect the mattress is memory foam and I never can sleep on it. The coffee in the room and downstairs is the worst I have ever had. The meal of steak pie, mash and peas was terrible. I enjoyed the mash but the peas were like bullets and I genuinely could not cut through the crust on top of the pie which I then found to have good gravy but hardly any meat. The pancakes were like leather and my spoon failed to cut through them. It is such a shame because there were new carpets since my last visit and the hotel is looking very good. It is also a shortish walk to the entrance to London City Airport. If it wasn't for the abysmal food and coffee and the bed, I would give the hotel five stars. To repeat, the staff could not be faulted. They were excellent."

"Great hotel next to the airport, I could only occasionally hear plane/train noise. Booked an upgraded room, it was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. A few things were a little dated, but when booking an airport hotel one isn't booking for luxury. Breakfast was good, buffet style with a range of options. Check-in and check-out was extremely easy. I would stay here again if flying into/out of London City Airport."

"We have been using this hotel for years for attending events at the Excel and our most recent stay was the first since the pandemic. The hotel has updated its decor which is nice and the room we had was clean, however we did have a few problems. Firstly we didn’t have a sign to put on the door to say that we wanted our towels changed over. So when we came back to get ready for bed we saw the towels were still in the same place as we left them in the morning. My partner asked about it and the person behind the desk said they will put it on the handover for the morning. We got new towels and went on their word that the information would pass over. It didn’t and the next day we got back to the hotel quite late to find the towels, cups etc were not changed over. I went to the desk this time to ask why this hadn’t happened and the staff member acted like I was talking in a different language. I got towels again so by this point we had two days worth of towels piling up. Bear in mind that also we were told that the bed sheets won’t be changed over either so that was something else we would have thought would have been changed as the normal for a hotel. In the end we ended up dumping the towels outside the room in the corridor with the cups so that everything would be changed. Thankfully it all was when we came back that evening, along with a door sign for the towels! Secondly, we wanted to have the breakfast that we were aware you had to pay for as we didn’t have it included in our booking. We paid and whilst a few of our group went up, it seemed like all the staff running the breakfast were suspicious of us not paying. They kept approaching us and asked what room we were in, had we paid a number of times before standing around and watching us eat. It made me very uncomfortable to the point where I didn’t want to get up for the breakfast that had been paid for and my partner had to go up to get everything. Lastly, the walls are paper thin. There were other guests next door to us that were being really loud, slamming their door until the early hours of the morning. We did say something to the staff member behind the desk about it and whilst we didn’t hear the loud laughing, the door was still being slammed. Additionally guests running up and down the corridor when it was around midnight. Would I recommend the hotel? Yes if you are staying for 1 night. For us that were attending a weekend long event (especially working it), not so much because of the missing towel sign that didn’t seem to get replaced until we complained each night, no clean cups + sheets, being treated like we were going to pull a fast one for getting the breakfast and other guests being inconsiderate of others staying. I would have thought that at least our door sign would have been replaced but it didn’t seem that urgent for the staff. We just wanted to have showers after a long day of working an event and not have to come back to things not being clean. Not sure if there has been cutbacks on doing general house keeping but this did cause some stress that could have been avoided."

"an affordable, comfy hotel. The room we got only had one bed for the two of us. The tram right next to the hotel might wake you up in the morning, no biggie. There's dinner and a breakfast buffet for about $12:50, the breakfast was smart plays if you're hungry and don't plan to eat until later. There's an awesome bush park nearby with a neat history in being a boat yard. There's lime bikes a few buildings down towards London if you wanna ride into town - just make sure you have internet. The tram stops are also located somewhat close to the hotel, which is convenient. overall a good hotel :D"
