"A walk on the heath followed by lunch at the Bull and Last. Corner table was spacious at the back of the pub. Service was excellent by a very pleasant Andy. Atmosphere was buzzing and every table was occupied. Food was good and the menu changes every day. Well worth a visit - we will be back to try other dishes from the menu. Highly recommended. It is also a hotel. Restaurant is dog friendly. One note on service - the fries we received were over cooked and Andy took them back to the chef to show him. Resulting in no charge for the ice cream for our son which I thought was very kind. Great service."

"Had a team lunch there which was really nice. We had a big table at the top floor with a pre set menu. It was more than I expected from a pub lunch and at the same time the food itself wasn’t great. If you are serving a butter squash risotto, don’t top it with grilled cheese. The squash itself was delicious. The thick brown bread for starters was great. I ordered a chocolate mousse for dessert and they ended up serving a pair dessert which I didn’t get. It was some sort of a creme,with baked pairs, all topped with whipped cream. Not great. Service was great,super attentive. The brought sparkling and still water to the table and someone was there with us all the time."

"My first time last night; we really enjoyed it. Superb staff and very nice wines by the glass. I had the steak which was excellent. The Bull & Last sirloin has arguably the perfect balance between flavour and tenderness. As an American I find high end US steaks to be very tender but not very flavourful. UK steaks very flavourful but perhaps on the tough side. The Bull & Last found the magic middle. Nice!"
