Reviews
"Before staying here I did read the reviews and was wondering to to expect, but I'm also the sort of person that likes to experience things first hand before making up my mind. We had a standard double room on the first floor and you can hear the tube trains but not during the night, so it didn't bother us. The room and bathroom were clean, modern and nicely decorated, although the paint was peeling in a couple of places on the bathroom walls (nothing that can't be easily fixed). It was cosy, but you have to expect that in London and it was absolutely fine for the two of us. The bed was comfy and we made use of the extra pillows in the wardrobe as individually they're a bit thin, but with 2 each it was perfect. I liked that there was hot chocolate available in the room as well as the usual tea and coffee and that the toiletries in the bathroom were in large bottles, so much less waste. The hotel itself is in an old building with old windows, but they open which is a bonus and they have extra glazing on the inside to keep the heat in the room. Our bathroom also had a window you could open which was nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel room in London for a night, the Wesley Euston is worth a visit."
"My experience at Wesley Euston was quite great! I would say that it exceeded my expectations. When I read previous reviews, I was a bit scared and curious since some people complained that it didn’t meet their expecting (especially around the room space, underground train noises, hygiene, and food). It turned out to be good for me, and all I have are good reviews. I got the Superior Double Room (at the middle floor I think) which I think is key as the lower options would be quite small. So if you want a decent space, then you should get this particular room size and probably not at the ground floor to avoid the train noises (it’s inevitable actually if you’re at the ground floor). Meal options obviously are mainly English and you could easily get anything else you want with Uber Eats (the reception picks up your order when it arrives if you can’t come down immediately). The restaurant staffs and receptionists are super helpful and friendly, I must say. The hotel is also close to the Euston Square train station, which is a plus. So you can decide to explore the Euston area (there are a ton to explore here) or move to other streets easily with the trains. The only challenge I had was that the roads to the hotel were under construction which made the drive in/parking options limited plus it can become confusing to find your path as a visitor. But all of that wouldn’t exist once the constructions are over, I believe. In summary I’d recommend The Wesley to anyone and look forward to coming again."
"As others have said, I’m not sure why the Wesley is a 4-star hotel. It was pretty bang-average and on par with a Best Western/Holiday Inn, but for double the price. The location is definitely great, but that’s where the pros end. The room felt poorly maintained and the decor felt cheap. It was loud every time a door shut or someone walked down the hall. The front desk staff seemed pretty disengaged and apathetic. All in all, it was extremely overpriced for what we got. We had even received a 10% discount on one night of our stay because the hotel had been previously unwilling to provide even a partial refund in December 2021 when COVID testing requirements forced a change in plans. I hadn’t been pleased with the customer service at that time either. An additional point of feedback: We also got put in the room which was supposed to be for folks requiring extra accessibility options. Neither of us require this option, but we do come from a family with someone who uses a wheelchair, and couldn’t help but notice that the features of the room may have been catered to someone using a wheelchair, but disregarded the fact that many folks who use a wheelchair travel with folks who do not. For example: there was no mirror at eye level in the bathroom for someone who is standing in front of the sink. A full length mirror would have been a fairly easy solution to this and would create a more welcoming environment for a partner/spouse."
"Room very small. Bed a small double. We were on ground floor and could hear tubes running probably every 5 mins! However location is good. Breakfast good. Staff were nice ( even though we could hear them laughing at 7.30 am). Not sure we will return."
"The staff was absolutely lovely, truly pleasant from front desk to restaurant, but the accommodations were horrid. Definitely not a 4 star hotel compared to American standards. I anticipated the room being small, but my closet at home is almost bigger than this room. We were booked for a triple room which we thought came with at least three single beds or a queen and a single. There was only a double and single bed, but no problem we’re pretty close friends. There was no room for luggage even in the closet spaces, especially for three people. The room wasn’t all too clean and the bedding had a yellowish tinge to it. The bathroom was quite small as well and the shower door didn’t cover even a fourth of the shower, so water was EVERYWHERE by the time you were done. They did not provide face towels, so we ended up using hand towels to bathe. The room had a mildew like smell when we entered and now we know why. The staff did try to accommodate us with another room but we went ahead and booked elsewhere. Wish we could have taken pictures, but we just wanted to get out of there ASAP. This hotel might be okay location wise and for couples or singles, but definitely not for a group of three or more unless you book separate rooms."
