"If I could leave fewer stars I would! The absolute WORST service and the price for a simple breakfast for two was $30! At a pharmacy diner at that! My 3 egg western omelet was more like 1 egg. As for the home fries, they gave me less than 10 pieces! And why the F is coffee over $3? I’m surprised I wasn’t charged for the ketchup, creamer and nasty jelly on the table. I’d make other comments, but my mom taught me if I had nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all… unless it’s the truth! Plus I’m not antisemitic! Well it wasn’t the first time we’ve been, but it sure is the LAST!"
"Shopped at Westbury about a week and a half ago to get a walker and accessories for my mom. The gentleman at home health section assured me that if the walker didn’t work for my mom, I could bring it back and exchange for another one. Well, she didn’t like the walker and I went to bring it back and was told that I couldn’t return it. Not even the accessories that I had purchased that were still sealed. Won’t be going back there. I don’t appreciate being lied to."
"I’ve never had an issue with Westbury. My pharmacy (Walgreens) has been out of stock on one of my medicines. They will be out of stock for the foreseeable future. So I called them and BOOM! they have it. Every time I’ve needed them they’ve been there for me. I absolutely love their gift shop as well as their delicious food."
"Super unwelcoming environment. I stopped to to browse for decor. I had an empty bag of chips. I asked if I could toss it in the trash that I could clearly see behind the counter. The woman with an ugly ton and demeanor barked, “Take it to the bathroom all the way in the back.” I was shocked and so uncomfortable in that environment I chose to leave"
"One of my medications is a controlled substance that also happens to be in short supply these days. I was SO relieved when I called to ask if it was in stock and they could fill the 90 day supply and they said yes! Well, the person with whom I spoke, who authoritatively answered my questions, was wrong. They have a policy not to fill more than a 30 days of narcotics. Bob, the pharmacy manager, dismissed me immediately when I asked why it was only 30 days saying it was their policy because the owners aren’t comfortable with more being dispensed. I decide to push the issue a bit more only to be met with a very defensive and aggressive attitude. I did not observe this policy posted anywhere and no effort was made in advance to notify of this. Excuses Bob made: I was told the person who I spoke with on the phone was not a pharmacist, therefore not authorized to answer my question. As nobody there announces their name or role, how was I to know this? When one answers the phone and provides difinitive answers, i think it is safe to assume they are competent enough to answer simple questions. Additionally, the gentleman made sure to tell me that the provider had to be local for them to fill it. Make sure your employees are familiar with company policies before allowing them to answer calls. They only dispense 30 at a time because pharmacies are legally responsible if someone completes suicide after being given a 90 day supply of a narcotic. i work in the legal field, so my curiosity was piqued when I did a quick search for case law to support this and was not able to come up with anything. I called back to ask Bob for the case names so I could read them for myself only to find out that he didn’t know or any. Bob had previously worked for a pharmacy that was sued by the family of someone who completed suicide. He didn’t know if the case went to trial, but assumes it was settled out of court. (Side note - when I told him I work in law, he was visibly annoyed.) If he gave me 90 then the next person might not get any. Okay, but that’s not my problem. I have a sneaking suspicion for any other medication, they wouldn’t think twice about it. What Bob was able to accomplish: Causing a full panic attack which required me to take a medication I cannot stand. Spike my general anxiety which has prevented me from sleeping. Bonus consequence: this is impacting my husband who, in just a few short hours, will go to work driving a trash truck on nowhere near enough sleep. Making me feel like I was doing something wrong by advocating for myself as a patient. All of this because Bob was more concerned about making excuses than he was in connecting with a patient and trying to help someone who was clearly in distress - by this point I was openly sobbing. I’m all for keeping people safe, but at what cost? I can’t be the only person who has had a similar experience."
