“Great pub in an unassuming village. We were on a walk and chanced upon this place. It looked very welcoming so we stepped in. The interior is very large with three areas for guests. The bar serves the usual branded lager and also some ale. The seating is very comfortable along the windows at the front. After a couple of drinks we decided to extend our stay and ordered a meal. Usual pub stuff served elegantly. And it was tasty. I'm sure I'll come again.”

“Came in for lunch on a Thursday lunchtime and can’t praise this arrangement enough! Delicious food from the Gourmet Chicken Company within a comfortable and relaxed pub which friendly staff. It’s table service due to government guidelines which I think actually improves the customer experience. I really hope that after the lockdown ends this can return as it works brilliantly!”

“Having spent two days in Windsor and Eton we finally found The Queen Victoria. What a great find. The bar maid was lovely and definately the most pleasant bar maid in all the pubs we went in. Greeted with a smile and a welcoming comment. She even recalled our drinks when we went back to the bar without asking on what was clearly a very busy night. Met some nice locals in the pub too. I would recommend having a pint or three if your in Windsor as it was a lovely atmosphere too.”

“A lively restaurant with ornate interior and drama to food presentation! The staff were brilliant and helpful as we managed to get our reservations mixed up. We visited during lunch time and had their taster menu. It was very well presented, only minor issue was how to actually serve or pick the food on to our plates. The food itself was delicious and remarkably presented, it made a good talking point. There were good selections of wine, cocktails and non alcoholic drinks also available. Getting to the restaurant was easy as it was within short distance to the Castle Car Park.”

“Haven't been here for the food but the people are genuinely nice. Due to a mix-up I'd left my phone in a cab (on the other side of Oxford), which then wound up taking its next passengers to this place. My phone was safely kept in the custody of the bartender, who handed it back to me with a smile. I owe them a debt of gratitude.”

“Really good city center bar that manages to retain a local pub feeling. Excellent selection of alcoholic drinks both cask and keg including tap takeovers/brewery showcases, nice range of continental and craft bottles and cans. Food is provided by El Contador and is Mexican street food, it's also absolutely superb. The brisket tacos are probably the best I've ever had and you get 3 per portion which is really good value; however, between 5 and 9 on a Tuesday you get 2 portions for £10... which is outstanding value. The outside area is small but perfectly decent, the roof terrace is good but you can't smoke or vape on it. Staff are all really nice and friendly. The DBC app is a genius idea, all food and drinks are ordered and payed via it, it's fast, efficient and should probably be copied by other places.”

“Fantastic food and excellent staff. Went for my Birthday dinner and first time ever I loved Indian food in a restaurant that tasted so authentic. The staff were all so lovely, and loved how spacious and well decorated the place was. Tapasya will certainly be our go-to-restaurant for every special occasion from now on !”

“Took out a disabled elderly gentleman who is wheelchair bound. Fantastic service, food and disabled friendly environment. Requested wheelchair access before visit and was advised this wouldn’t be a problem… it wasn’t! So many places pay lip service to the disabled, not The Ivy. Thank you for helping get the old goat into the community after losing his confidence due to covid.”

“Such a lovely place. First time I have ever been here and it won't be the last. From walking through the door to leaving we were treated to excellent service and food. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The food was very tasty and freshly prepared and well presented. Definitely worth a visit.”

“I have been visiting this place since its established and at the start it was not as good. There were some halal food but they were close straight away. Now there are three halal places. And food is amazing. Little desert shop is absolutely my go to everytime I visit. Hubsta likes their milkshakes, waffles and I like their cakes better. Nice cosy little place this eat central is and cleaners are always on the go. You won't see much mess and toilet are right next to it. Another plus when you're with little ones. X”

“Took a friend in after a hike as she really wanted the Bailey's Christmas cocktails. For whatever reason they were under staffed tonight (manager, single waitress and the chefs) but they handled everything smoothly despite it being busy and us not booked in. The waitress handled everything really well and in a timely manner even being rushed off her feet and not everything being in stock. The food arrived pretty rapidly after ordering and was to a great standard. The restaurant itself is nice, nothing special but the usual clean, well laid out chain style. Good sized car park and warm, everything you'd want really. I'm not local, but if I'm in the area I'd certainly visit again. Thanks.”

“Lovely fresh pasta and ingredients! Highly recommended for fresh cooked food takeaway that is not greasy. I used to order via Uber/Just Eats but if you call they will take card payment on delivery and avoid the rubbish delivery/service fees!”
