“Loved this little gem of a place. Booked quite late but was offered 2 time options. Arrived and was shown to a small table for 2 in the middle of the room which was ok, but were then offered a different table closer to a window and more roomy which we accepted. Dinner was lovely, Sunday dinner and steak pie were our choices. In all honestly, the pie was too much!!! Maybe no starter next time......although the soup was to die for. Will definitely return”

“This has been my second visit the food has been great cooked just the way you like. Little confusion at the end as they had provided and old menu with the incorrect price on but wasn't an issue as experience was still worth the new price. The way they brought out the cake for my wife's birthday was fantastic and made a great meal even better.”

“Upon my most recent visit to this fine establishment i was astounded by the cleanliness and fragrant aroma,reminiscent of times bygone.The refreshing pint of john smiths was served at the ambient temperature and the jest of the landlord was second to only john bishop,yet he is much more charismatic. If you frequent this quaint pub on a weekend your ears will be treated to some rather majestic dance music,It really does cater for everyone,Only last week there was a drag race in the back garden consisting of two heavily modified mobility scooters with the winner getting their own vip parking spot. What else could one desire.”

“We were given a gift voucher to eat here, so went to try it out. The self-service salad bar was extensive and varied, and you can refill your plate as often as you like. The meats, the main focus of the menu, were all well cooked and delicious. The lunch menu includes 8 different meats which were carved at our table. It's a very large restaurant but there were only 5 diners when we visited so difficult to assess atmosphere. Service was fast and efficient but I can't imagine it would be easy to deliver that if it got anywhere near full. I would be happy to make a return visit.”

“the food was amazing and the staff are so kind and lovely. they were very open to assisting with any dietary requirements (one person was gluten free and they were amazing with that). we had a small medical emergency while there and the staff were nothing but helpful - even phoning for help for us and checking in to make sure everything was okay after. truly cannot recommend this place enough!!”

“Extremely friendly pub with warm, welcoming staff. Dog friendly and has dog treats on the bar for ye pooches. Quintessentially old fashioned (in a good way!) pub with more rooms and space than appears from the exterior. Beautiful, gorgeous, tip top floral displays with troughs and baskets - great enticing kerb appeal. Has some outdoor benches to the front, but also an additional outdoor seating area to the rear with plenty of sheltered seats. Residential and also has a function room for hire. An innovative range of four cask beers on, none of which I had heard of before: Acorn Brewery's Old Moor Porter, Welbeck Abbey Brewery's Ernest George, (which is a deep ruby ale with chocolate hint) Acorn Brewery's Barnsley Gold and Abbey Dale Brewery's Daily Bread, which is what I had. Heartily recommend this establishment and is one I would return to when in the area. Keep up the glorious 'floralness', has more enticing lure quality than one might think. Fabbohs!”

“Me and my 9yr old son had an amazing time at the kids Christmas party! Large buffet serving sweet and savoury goodies including all kids faves! Entertainment and games arranged for kids to participate in! Santa came and gave visits from the grotto. Each child received a present suitable for age and gender my son loved his! Xx”

“A large group of us attended in January 2023. I wasn't overwhelmed by looking at the limited menu but wow, the food was incredible. This is not cheap belly filler from Wetherspoons, this is all fresh food, all of what I saw looked home made, chicken looked home battered etc. The 1 cask ale that was on there was well kept. All that at and it wasn't expensive, it was superior food at Wetherspoons prices. Keep this pub going please, we need more like this, and I want it open for the next time I want to go.”

“Absolutely LOVE this pub, we went on Sunday and the atmosphere was brilliant. Lots of people having lunch (which looked delicious), but also plenty just having a drink. The people running it have done a great job turning this place around. Will definitely be going back and try the food next time too.”
