“Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday Saturday 10th September 2022 with some friends. The first thing that caught my eye was the funny quote on the board outside which instantly made us feel welcome. We were greeted and served by such lovely staff especially the Italian guy. The food and drinks were superb. Would definitely come back again. 5 stars”

Soy, oat, milk, what ever your taste - honestly the best wholesome coffee to start the day in town - thanks guys, so lucky to have you right next to the hotel! See you for breakfast!”

“Do not be put off by the unprepossessing exterior, a warm welcome awaits you here. The room we had was modern, comfortable and immaculate. The food at dinner and at breakfast was well above expectations and presented with care and skill by the charming chef, Dave. Manager Michael was equally charming and welcoming. Put all that together and you have a most enjoyable overall experience at an extremely reasonable price. If you don’t require the flattering trappings of an impersonal hotel, stay here.”

“Having the coffee cart where it is provides a valuable asset to Prospect Park. Great range of fabulous tasting coffees, teas, hot chocolates (the flavoured ones are fabulous in winter), coolers, fruit smoothies and soft drinks as well as a mouth-watering array of sweet and savoury pastries and bakes. Even though trading conditions are tough with the rising cost of living and the impact of this heatwave having a knock-on effect of opening hours, I hope this little gem continues on and on. It's the little indies like this which keep Reading going (and that's been so evident during these last couple of years with the pandemic and so on).”

Astonishing craft beer selection (there's truly something for everyone), 6 taps with kegged beers, high quality coffee, large selection of spirits with some wine options, and incredibly friendly and inviting staff. The owners are lovely people and they really make you feel welcome. A place you can comfortable go and spend some time both alone and with friends. Also, very conveniently located across from the train station and a nice Indian so you can get a drink ahead of your dinner or before a night out in Reading. Highly recommend.”

The rooms are immaculate, modern and comfortable. The breakfast is lovely and the house is in a great location. The owners are lovely people and make you feel welcome, they couldn't be more accommodating. The place is a home away from home.”

“Love this place! First went after a run in the snow, and they had a roaring fire, which was great for warming up. Soup of the day was excellent. Since then I've gone after swimming in the lake. Staff are really friendly, always a warm welcome, and they don't even seem to mind that I drip lake water in with me when I come.”

“Unbelievablyyy delicious bagels. I don't know what bread they use but it completely changes the experience of traditional bagels. I was also extremely impressed with the decaf coffee, as I'm used to decaf options being more bitter and tasteless than caffeinated ones - but not here! Also big shout-out to the owners, who are genuinely lovely people. Can't wait to go back!”
