Today I had an encounter that completely surpassed my expectations. Eugene Gersh (Occupational Therapist), the most phenomenal provider I have encountered in NYC. Thorough, caring, empathetic, insightful and understanding are a few words to describe Eugene. I came in full of fear, not knowing how I'll get better and thinking that the chronicity of my issue has got the best of me. Eugene, allowed me to feel relief within just one session and gave me stretches to continue doing at home so that I may continue to heal. Thank you so much for your compassion and your attentiveness. "I had surgery on a finger on my right hand and needed occupational therapy. I looked under NYU's website and when I saw Kevin Chen, I got a feeling that he was the right one to help me. That's an understatement! He was wonderful!! Very kind, patient, understanding, listens to my questions and concerns and gave me exercises to do at home (during and after my sessions with him) that have helped greatly. I highly recommend him for whatever your occupational therapy needs are."

"I would like to make NYU aware that I called earlier today to find a physical therapist and schedule an appointment. The call was placed at 2:08 pm, and the woman I spoke to was unprofessional and mean. She spoke to me in a condescending way after I asked simple questions. I decided to hang up the phone and look for another physical therapy center. It is important to make sure that your staff has more respect and patience when dealing with people who are seeking care."

"I used to see another rheumatologist at the other location- 355 W 52nd and the office staff there is SO incredibly rude, and essentially inhuman. One time when my usual doctor was unavailable I saw Dr. Gary Ho. Once I met with him I realized what I was missing seeing the other doctor. Today I am seeing Dr. Ho in the 333 E38th location and as soon as I walk in, all three receptionists look up at me, smile and greet me like the living, breathing, sentient being that I am. Mind blown. The waiting room is much nicer and less cramped than the other office. I dropped a star because the doctor is running behind and I still haven’t been seen but this has well surpassed my experiences at the other location thus far. It’s sad that the system has gone so low that simply being greeted in a friendly manner at the desk is so unusual but here we are ."
