Mount Sinai Doctors - East 85th Street

"I have been coming here for a year now! I remember on one visit waiting about 45 min to be seen by my doctor. Bedsides that one time, I have been seen on time or early. The nurses are friendly and I love Dr. Tikahnova! Fast forward to August 2024....don't ever be running late in rainy weather, the waiting room completely empty and you just need a form completed. You will WAIT!! I guess the doctor was on lunch. Traveled from Stamford, CT in the pouring rain and after having to find parking and walk from the parking garage.....I was nearly 15 minutes late. The doctor agreed to see me. I waited over 45 minutes to be seen and the waiting room was EMPTY! It pays to be onetime however every situation is different. This is what sets establishments apart! Customer Service!!! I will be looking for a new primary care doctor! Service has went down. To even schedule this appointment I was first told someone will call me back in 24 hours to schedule an appointment because they were backed up. I wasn't satisfied with that response called back, spoke to a rep and booked the appointment. The inconsistency....the lack of grace and customer service. I was informed the 12:20 appointment arrived at 11:40....in short...the customer service sucks!"

"The most disrespectful receptionists I’ve ever encountered. The attitude is completely unacceptable. Was hung up on twice in a row. Are they not being paid to do this??"

"This morning, Martiza was scheduled for an 8:45am appointment and arrived at around 8am. She was assisted and registered immediately by the front desk representative at the location at 234 East 85th Street. A full hour passed before Maritza approached the front desk for assistance around 9:30am. The front desk representative was shocked that she was not seen by the doctor yet. The nurse finally showed up, acting as if she had been put to great inconvenience. Maritza calmly asked "why wasn't she seen sooner?". The nurse was rude and responded "what do you think? Do you think you will be seen right away?" This response is disrespectful, unprofessional and does not align with your company's values. Maritza asked to see the supervisor to report a complaint about the nurse and the waiting time to be seen. She was told by the front desk "the supervisor was on vacation". In addition, Maritza waited in the doctor's office for Dr. Donna Gagliuso as the doctor approached the office, she did not close the door for the consultation which she seems to only do with my mother at all times. Each patient has the right for privacy by law. Maritza is being discriminated against and treated unfairly compared to other patients. Furthermore, Maritza wanted to report the complaint to Dr. Gagliuso. After Maritza was able to report the complaint, Dr. Gagliuso stated "you can change to another doctor". This statement is unprofessional to say to a patient who was treated unfairly, waited for the doctor's services and to be mistreated for advocating for herself. What kind of services are being provided to patients at your clinic? For several years Maritza has experienced rude, discriminative, unprofessional treatment from the front desk and Dr. Gagliuso. Maritza has been a respectful, loyal and supportive patient at Mt. Sinai. "Had an appointment with endocrinology here and got back irregular blood work. I was told the doctor would contact me. I send messages every couple of days and call the office trying to follow up. It’s now been two months and to this day I still cannot get in contact with the doctor, calling the office is absolutely no help either. Nobody answers messages and I keep being told over the phone she will get back to me on high priority.. nobody ever does. I just feel extremely helpless and confused, and it’s impossible to get an appointment with a new endocrinologist anytime soon. I’m not sure what to do but I find this absolutely ridiculous and have never had an experience like this before. Dr. Emily Nosova, do not recommend here."
