Buttersville Campground

"My favorite campground I've been to! It's very quiet, it's not so crowded and it's clean. There's a playground, access to the beach and on Saturday the hosts served coffee, hot cocoa and donuts! Bathrooms were clean and stocked, the only issue was that the hand dryer didn't really work, nobody used it and there's only 2 stalls. I would come here again!"

"The view of Lake Michigan is exceptional, but there are some tradeoffs...It has a lot of trees, so not all the sites are laid out the best (make sure you camper size fits the site you reserve), the "regulars" could be a little put out by the tourist campers. The view of Lake Michigan is exceptional."

"The family and I really enjoyed the campsite. We did not want to leave. The playground is not to far from any site. The view of Lake Michigan is amazing. The beach is super clean. The showers and bathrooms are clean. We will definitely be back next year."

"Great campground on lake michigan just outside of ludington. At&t reception is very limited but campground provides wifi so it calls work through wifi calling. Would definitely stay here again! Bathrooms weren't state park campground bathrooms but there were clean, could use more showers though. Quiet time isn't enforced for 10pm quiet time but only had 1 night (first night there) where there was partying until 2am where someone called the cops because someone backed into a truck because they were drunk. Other than that, one of our favorite places to camp! A bonus is Anderson Creek Kennels for doggy daycare or boarding for the night only 10 mins away! If you are unable to take fido with you on one of your adventures in the area, drop them off there for a few hours! Great service there as well! We used them 2 days in a row and now complaints! "This is a smaller campground so if you want to stay here I would definitely reserve in advance! We arrived without a reservation in the evening and the campground was full :( but we asked anyway. The staff was extremely accommodating and found us a spot where people left early which was amazing that they took the time to check! The whole time we were there staff would go around and make sure everyone was doing okay on there site and even made sure you could get your fire started etc. The bathrooms were actually really clean and they were following social distancing rules nicely. They also had two outhouse type bathrooms which are what you expect (they clean this down every morning). The showers were decent as well for a campground. The campground area was very clean, and swept for any debris so you don't have to worry about your tent. There is enough room in each spot to park your vehicle and if you have extra cars there is space on the side of the park to park them! Ok now the area! Extremely beautiful ❤️ my pictures just don't do justice. The beach area stayed really private with only the camping people on it. To the right there was additional beach area for added space which people went to in the mornings. If you are ever looking for a place to stay up in Michigan this is the place to go!"
