Manu's Bistro
● Open“Great food, but be careful as "not spicy" here doesn't mean the same as it might in other cuisines you're used to. Wonderful staff and chef. We really felt well cared for and at home. Will definitely be back next time we're in St Kilda. The place is tiny, so I think you'd usually have to book. We just walked in on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon, so I think we got lucky.”

The Astor Theatre
● Closed“Came here for the first time to see a special screening of John Waters’ cult classic Polyester. What a stunningly beautiful theatre! Genuinely worth visiting just to see the architecture and historical design elements alone, but I got the impression from just the one visit that this theatre has developed an amazing friendly and inclusive community around it.”

Theatre Works
● Open“I had a terrific "right time, right place" experience here over the weekend ... having stayed at an AirBnB the night before a few doors down Acland St I dropped in for a cup of coffee and there was a read-through / rehearsal of a play called "Midwest Scouse" about to start. What a great start to a Sunday morning with no real plans to rush off for ! The place itself is great, the staff very friendly and they definitely brew each and every coffee with a lot of love. Fab location with a tree covered courtyard out front. I thoroughly enjoyed the read-through of the play, local drama productions is something I have always enjoyed and not had the kind of time for I'd like. The play-write, director, and actors all put together a tour-de-force that will not disappoint punters who go to see the final product. Thank you to everyone at Theatre Works who put in so much work on this show and gave me the opportunity to see it coming along all for the price of a cup of coffee. It's these little experiences being in the right place at the right time that create some of the most special memories.”

Bistro Voliere
● Closed“Went here for my birthday after googling for a place to go, saw the good reviews, and booked, definitely a good choice, made the night. The young French guy, can’t remember his name, but he’s from Lille and here two months, was the perfect host, had a lovely chat with him. The ambience is perfect, candlelit, relaxed, and though the place was almost full, the noise level was low. The food was perfect. We had the scallops and pasta truffle for starters, delicious. For mains we both had the Beef Borginon , cooked to perfection on a bed of mash, carrots. Creme Brûlée and a cheese Platter to finish us off. Will be going back to try more on their menu for sure, can highly recommend a visit.”

Buba Local Shuk
● Closed“We had a wonderful experience at Buba and if I had to chose one word to describe the experience, it would be generous. The portions were generous, fresh and tasty. We chose the chef’s menu at $60 pp and received starter of bread (so light and fluffy) with a selection of delicious dips. Entrée was Ceviche and Lamb Arais (one of my fav dishes – perfectly cooked and soft and crunchy all at once) with a mains of lamb skewers and chicken shawarma. This with a perfectly made margarita served with very friendly service, means we will defiantly be back. A welcome addition (and needed) to Fitzroy street. And even better, it was 25% off between 3pm and 5pm on the weekend. We left very satisfied. The only feedback I’d give is that they need to update their website for the menu. The website menu has the chef’s choice menu for min 4 pp but the printed menu in the restaurant has different food options and min 2pp (and a slightly higher price). I certainly delayed trying Buba out as I didn’t have 4 pp who wanted to go. But even without the 25% off, it was worth it for $60 and will come back next weekend just for the lamb arais.”

Crust Pizza Balaclava
● Closed“Never have had an issue with this crust both delivery wise and in store service, they always offer compromises if they don't have a certain thing in stock. Always get the pesto chicken club, there cheesy garlic bread and ice cream are always a good side option. Great staff too.”

The Pyramid
● Closed“This is such a hidden gem! I was not expecting the vibes to be this perfect - the restaurant is newly renovated, with a gorgeous bar set up, a cosy shisha lounge and a more refined dinner area. We had the bottomless which was $59 and for this quality of drinks and food, I definitely am going back. The drinks not only looked amazing but tasted sooo good - some of the easiest and most delicious cocktails I've had (a bit dangerous haha). The parma was so flavoursome and very tender but the pumpkin risotto was so good! Really hearty, creamy and the pieces of pumpkin and feta made it a perfect combination.”

Bergerac at Tolarno
● Closed“An exceptional night out was had at this wonderful restaurant. The staff were welcoming and a delight to chat with, and the french food was incredible. We ordered the french onion soup, the escargot, the crab ravioli and the steak eye fillet. All cooked to perfection. We then ordered a Bombe Alaska which was presented with much fanfare. The lovely birthday candle presented on the creme caramel was also a highlight of the evening. It showed just how thoughtful the staff were to make the evening even more memorable. We will definitely return.”

Euro Bites Café
● Closed158 Acland Street, St Kilda VIC 3182, Australia“Just a genuine place with decent food and an honest hardworking proprietary, Sam just works his business like clockwork, no gimmicks or bells and whistles. Euro Bites have been serving the St Kilda community for years. I recommend trying their Dim Sims if they're available. But an egg and bacon roll with a coffee is what I usually go for.”

Daniel Son Murrumbeena
● Closed“Almost every restaurant or cafe does a parma, very few do it well. Daniel Son is of of those who does it incredibly well! Everything tasted so fresh, beautifully cooked, excellent portion size and so well presented! I'm not a salad person but it looked so good I had to try it, and it did not disappoint. The chips were fresh and delicious. In addition, the cafe is lovely and clean and has an awesome rustic feel to it. And lastly, the staff are super friendly and efficient. Would 100% recommended!”
