"ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!! You know the old saying about "putting lipstick on a pig"? There is not enough lipstick in the world to make this oinker of an apartment complex passable as luxury or even livable, for that matter. First and foremost, there is a reason they only seem to have virtual tours because all you need to do is drive through the place and see how trashy it truly is, but even once you move in then the fun really begins. One of the most infuriating aspects of living here is that the property managers will find any reason (and I do mean ANY reason) to come into your apartment. This is not a rare occurrence. It is constant - multiple times per month. I've lived here for 3 months and they've been in my unit 8 times for stupid nonsense. They've demanded access three times in the last two weeks alone. Tomorrow, they plan on painting the apartment doors in three or four of the buildings, which is the last thing they should be worrying about given all the other problems here, but the real kicker is that they plan on leaving all of our doors open/unlocked "to allow the paint to dry properly." This is not a safe area. They should NOT be leaving our doors unlocked for such an asinine reason. You can check out one of the other reviews (on Yelp) for how unsafe this place truly is. For a more accurate gauge of how bad this place is pleas check the reviews elsewhere because clearly, a lot of the 5 star reviews on here are fake. Marley Manor truly deserves less than a 1 star review. For instance, their infamous "blackout period" is strictly designed to rip off tenants. Period. As everyone else mentioned, these apartments are way overpriced for what you're getting, but Salisbury Apartments owns many of the complexes in this area, so they can manipulate the prices knowing that anyone in dire need is probably going to have to rent here because the housing market on the Eastern Shore is ridiculous. However, don't expect the high prices to attract top quality neighbors. The attitude of Marley's clientele show in how respectful they are towards common areas and shared spaces. They throw their trash everywhere, including parking lots, sidewalks, bushes, in the hallways, on the stairs, it's just nasty. On top of all that, you have people hanging out in the hallway smoking weed. I understand that it's legal now, but c'mon, do it in your own apartment. I don't want to walk out of my door and get hit in the face with a cloud of dank that is so thick you'd think you were at a Grateful Dead concert. Also, I guarantee you that if I stood out there and smoked a big fat Cuban cigar or a pack of Marlboros in the hall, something would be said. One of the other joys of living here is constant noise. My downstairs neighbors blasted music 3-6 days per week from 3-20 HOURS at a time. My relentless complaints to the office yielded a "noise violation" letter being sent to the offending individuals and a phone call telling them to turn the music down a little. Ultimately, the office gave me the snarky response, "Well, if it's that bad, I suggest you call the police." Which is something that I had done numerous times but when you rent to trashy people, they don't really care about a visit from the police and will go right back to blasting the music. Regardless, it is not my responsibility as a tenant, to make other tenants comply with the lease. My walls and floors should not be shaking all hours of the night from the music of people who don't have to bother to get up for work in the morning. I literally begged to be allowed to move to another unit but was told it was just not possible because we were in the "blackout period." Even when it’s not my neighbors, I can constantly hear rap music blaring from somewhere in the building or the complex. There is also loud screaming, domestic fights, people riding ATVs, and all kinds of other wonderful stuff going on in this dump."
"They claim to be "luxury apartments" but that's a big NO. My husband got the keys from the leasing office someone just gave him a packet didn't say anything or explain anything at all so we figure out ourselves. As soon as we stepped in the whole unit was so dusty and there's a lot of spiders and spiderwebs like we walked into an old building or something. I have pictures! So we checked everything and we already encounter so many issues. First, is our laundry area we got there and washer wasn't even hooked up to anything like it's not ready to use, it's an old washer that stinks will make you wanna throw up and so old that every time you turn it on it's so loud like banging sound. Then the sliding door in there wasn't even safely screwed it's broken, dryer is old as hell too and dirty. Like our whole unit wasn't even inspected or cleaned prior to move in (to think that we move in on a weekend we're expecting at least the unit is ready for use). Bathroom is dirty too a lot of yellow marks on the sink, toilet and tub. Showers wasn't even working well, stoppers don't fit. Kitchen has grease too in the appliances. All in all for the price which is very high, it's not luxury at all! It's old stuffs that were in here!!! And guess what we discovered so much MOLD!!! So disappointed."
"Property manager is so rude and disrespectful. She also mocked me since English isn’t my first language annd when heated it’s worst and I heard her say do you understand with a Hispanic accent. She helps with Leander lakes office since no one works there since it’s falling apart."
"Had I read the reviews, I couldve saved myself and my husband from this place. Upon living there for only a week, we discovered roaches in our apartment. The pest people (who they provide by the way) didn't come out till almost a week later because of the rotation they were on with other sister apartments. Our washer and dryer had also not been put together as well and I had to call numerous times (everyday for 4 days) till they sent the maintenance. Which goes against their 24hour stance, correct? The upkeep of the apartment was not luxury at all. Sloppy paint jobs, very weak flooring, and paper thin windows. Our hallway outside was always covered in filth and food and even had a huge hole in the wall, which I reported. Nothing was done. I'm happy to no longer be a resident here. Moved out the same month we moved in. Though, I will note that they only gave us $100 back from the security deposit. A month stay equals a grand in repairs? Yeah I don't think so. Please trust the reviews. I was very disappointed."
"Currently disputing a lease termination issue with the office personnel: Wife found a new job in another state earlier this year: March 8, 2021 -- Per our lease terms, we signed a lease addendum, stating we were renewing our lease following the terms for the month-to-month option because we intended to move to another state in the near future May 5, 2021 -- Per our lease terms, we signed a 60-day move out notice stating our last day in the apartment would be July 6, 2021 May 15, 2021 -- Paid rent for June 2021 in the amount of $1463 (under new month-to-month lease terms) May 26, 2021 -- Moved household items out of Marley Manor apartment June 1, 2021 -- Marley Manor billed us for June rent & other charges in the amount of $1313 leaving a credit balance of $300 June 9, 2021 -- Performed a final walkthrough of the apartment with Meg Simpson (Property Manager) who found no issues. Turned in our keys with the understanding that we would receive our $500 deposit plus our credit balance of $300 back within 45 days of our lease termination (7/6/2021) July 7, 2021 -- Received a telephone call from Salisbury Apartments main office asking us why we had not paid our rent. I explained to them that our month-to-month lease terminated on July 6 per the 60-day written move out notice submitted on May 5. July 26, 2021 -- Called Marley Manor office regarding disposition of our deposit. Property Manager stated that we owed a balance for 10 days rent in July!!! Apparently, they cannot find our 60-day written move out notice in their files!!!"
