"This hotel needs updating. Our couch was uncomfortable. Hallways smelled on pot. Housekeeping did not come in regularly. One good thing was the breakfast room. Very neat, clean, stocked, and good, hot food. Miss. Edith was wonderful! She went our of her way to see that we were fed, and everything taken care of for us. Way to go Miss. Edith!, we need more of you in this world!"

"Unfortunately, WIFI and cable TV were out for over 16 hrs of our less than 24 hr stay, which was majorly inconvenient. Our being welcomed for early morning coffee from Edith almost made up for that. Edith and desk staff were all very pleasant. Get a new internet provider - there was no excuse for that kind of outage."

"This is the best hotel in Salisbury by far. We stay here each year and it never disappoints. The rooms are clean and the hotel is up to date. We recommend staying on the back side of the hotel facing the back parking lot where it's quieter, versus the front of the hotel which faces a highway. The staff is *incredible*. Special shout out to Edith for getting up early and making delicious breakfasts and being so hospitable, as well as Andreya on the front desk who ensures that everyone's stay is great. She is so friendly and nice and professional. These staff members deserve special recognition from Marriott for their consistent excellent customer service."

"We booked 4 nights in July 2023. After driving 8 hrs to get there, the front desk staff informed us that our room was unavailable due to maintenance problems (water leaks). He said he had arranged for a comparable stay at their sister property up the road, a Courtyard Inn. He assured us that there would be a kitchen and separate bedroom, as we had reserved. I thought this sounded strange, and sure enough, when we checked in at the Courtyard, the room they assigned us was just an ordinary 1 king bed - for 3 of us! So he was either lying or incredibly uninformed. The Courtyard staff managed to find us 2 rooms across the hall from each other, at least, and at a discount. Then I looked at a printed letter that the Residence Inn had given us explaining - in misspelled and ungrammatical English - that our Residence Inn reservation had been moved to the Courtyard because an extended stay guest had extended their stay. So which reason is correct? I tried to speak to a manager, but each time I asked, the manager was not on-site. Then yesterday I saw a $342 charge on my credit card statement from Residence Inn, in addition to the legit Courtyard charges. Are you kidding me? Guess I'm going to have to waste more time with them to ask for a refund."

"I had a problem with this place from the day I booked online. Default was to automatically click the button for nonrefundable…even though I clicked pay later I was stuck with nonrefundable. Ok…wasn’t planning on canceling anyways. Then the real problem…we were bringing our dog. I saw that there was a fee but couldn’t find how much. We found it and it was $100 a night!!! WHOA!!! Usually this fee is $25-$35 a night. Then I get an email saying it’s $150 a night!! Tried calling and talking directly to hotel…got a desk clerk who double talked us. Couldn’t tell us when the manager would be there nor offered for them to call us. At that point we figured we’d handle at the hotel. Arrival at the hotel….we got there around check in. We were told they were completely filled and had to stay at their sister hotel…additionally they were booked since the spring - we booked maybe three weeks prior, had actual conversations and emails back and forth and weren’t told this at all…they hid this fact from us. We were sent a few miles down the road to Courtyard. The staff was extremely warm and helpful..we were told our reservation was “Walked” over which meant Residence Inn would cover everything since we were being sent there…The room was not equal to the Residence Inn one we booked. There was no kitchen. The way Residence Inn treated us from day one is not how customers should be treated. First, the ambiguous fees for our dog which were hidden deeply in the booking process, the changing amount with no explanation, Secondly automatically filling in the nonrefundable button. Third not telling us they were booked and switching us…or did they switch us to get rid of us?? Fourth,..we were totally inconvenienced…if we wanted to stay at courtyard we would have booked in the first place. Am I due a refund for this lousy treatment? Am I due an apology? I feel I’m due something. Never have we been treated so horribly. And we paid close to $350 for this honor. (We did use a free night value of $110 towards the $350). And this doesn’t include the dog fee. Courtyard was not charging us for it."
