The White Hart Inn at Lydgate
● Closed“This week we were fortunate enough to have our wedding at The White Hart. The whole staff and establishment couldn't have done anymore for us. Their attention to detail on the day was impeccable and even the smallest request was delivered with such enthusiam and the team were so personable. Even when small hiccups occured before the day Charles and his dedicated team made us feel so valued and wen't completely out their way to get everything the way we wanted it. We had comments from our guests that the quality of the food was the best they have had at a wedding and the venue looked incredible with the roaring fire and it's naturally cosy atmoshphere. The rooms were immaculate and incredibly warm and cosy with all details thought of. We'd like to express our sincere thanks and couldn't reccommend this venue and team more to deliver your special day. Thankyou to every single member of the team, you all played a part in delivering our special day. Christian & Emma x”

Chorlton Green
● OpenWhitelow Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester M21 9FQ, United Kingdom“I originally visited this place under its previous management for breakfast and ended up with overpriced and bland bubble & squeak, ineptly served and decided that was that. Given its new management sign I decided to give it a go, and was not disappointed at all. Being a vegetarian one is forced by circumstance to become something of a connoisseur of cheese sandwiches, and the vegetarian club sandwich here is pretty close to perfect, with the creaminess of a large chunk of cheddar being well offset by the sweetness of beetroot and tomato that actually taste of beetroot and tomato. The beer selection is small and orientated to German lager, but of a very good quality and dwarfed by the winelist, coupled with an extensive number of teas and coffee and soft drinks, even the non-alcoholics wont be lacking in options. The decor itself isn't particularly anything to talk about, but more than eclipsed by the quality of the food and the character of the staff. In fact the only negative thing I can say about the place is that the mobile signal is dire, which is of no fault of the bar itself.”

Walled Garden Restaurant
● Open746-768 Garstang Road, Barton, Preston PR3 5AA, United Kingdom“Have been here twice for afternoon tea. The first one (in December) was lovely, but unfortunately spoilt by finding out on the day we couldn't stay longer than an hour due to needing to prepare the restaurant for their Christmas parties. This was not explained to us when we booked. To be fair to them after we complained they got in touch straight away and offered us a complimentary afternoon tea. Our second visit was even better. A lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches, plenty of tea in a lovely setting. We will definitely go back.”

Saracens Head
● OpenPaddock Lane, Warburton, Lymm WA13 9TH, United Kingdom“We were ALMOST put off by the recent reviews... but decided to go anyway and I'm so glad we did. They are very upfront about the limited menu, and new staff still being in training. We ordered 14 meals, with a few extra sides/starters and everything came out together, well presented, hot and in reasonable time. I had the "Seasoned Bird" chicken burger, it was great! We then went in the soft play for an hour or so, the kids (4, 6 & 7) loved it! Could have maybe done with an extra member of staff in the attached cafe, the lady running it was lovely, she signs everyone in, takes your orders and prepares the hot drinks... she will sleep well tonight! Recent reviews make it clear they've had their fair share of teething problems... but don't let that stop you from going!”
