“Firstly I think it’s important to note this is a cafe that is connected to a family support centre and counselling service. It’s cheap and it is supposed to be somewhere accessible for people who access the services next door, as well as for anybody who uses the park. I actually came here not because of this but because I had attended a baby class in the adjoining room, so my friend and I had coffee and cake here. It’s a great little place, so cheap and the staff are friendly too. There’s a seating area outside as well for warmer days. It’s a lovely little cafe if you’ve had a walk in the park or want to meet a friend with your little ones. They also offer a range of food and I’ve-cream in summer, but we always went primarily for coffee and cake, both of which were always spot on. We used to go here every week after baby classes, and will continue to do so after Covid. This cafe definitely deserves our support so that it stays open in the future.”

“Absolutely wonderful Spa experience! I had an amazing full body massage, enjoyed a relaxing facial and even got a lovely manicure. The staff are so lovely and sweet, especially the lovely Danae who also me through my treatments. Cannot recommend this place enough, always such great service every time!”

“Stopped on the way on holiday and the room, restaurant and service was all good. Booked a last minute night returning due to a very delayed flight, and again got a good rate and good service. The cherry on the top was a surprise bottle of wine to celebrate our honeymoon. Not expected at all and such a lovely gesture. ☺️”

“After a recommendation from my daughter I booked The Cottage. What a wonderful find. Great place to stay so clean and comfortable. Lovely woodfire makes it so cosy. Accommodation is great. The bedroom is very comfortable and you can see the stars when in bed. There is also a single room with twin beds. The garden is lovely my two dogs loved it and I knew they were safe as it is well fenced. Lovely walks round the area. After my weeks stay I felt so relaxed and can't wait to go back. A great find.”

“We have been with the Simply Animals family for nearly 3 years. Gemma, Ryan and team have helped us right along the way, from puppy training, good citizen award, rally and Canicross. We also use Gemma and Ryan for daycare and home boarding. Sansa adores Gemma and I would not leave her with anyone else. I know she’s in safe hands. The facilities and friendly welcome you receive from the team is fabulous; they’ve made us feel part of one big happy dog family.”

“First trip to The Woof Bar for my 2 cockapoos. One is very nervous, but Carole was brilliant. She welcomed them and the little walk round the garden to get to know them worked a treat. Carole did a fabulous job with the grooming and her attention to detail fantastic. Two very happy, relaxed doggies when i picked them up, looking lovely and their fur hss never been so soft. Have already booked our next visit. Would definitely recommend Carole @ The Woof Bar.”

“We have just finished an amazing week’s honeymoon staying in Overlea Farm Cowshed. The cottage was incredible all round. I was particularly impressed with the decor and furnishing. Fantastic quality and great design. We loved the hot tub both on a morning looking out over the fields or on an evening looking at the stars. The fire was fantastic to keep toasty in the evening, though you get full control of the central heating anyway. The owners made us feel very welcome with a wonderful little welcome hamper. When we arrived there was gentle music playing on the Sonos system and a lovely scent from the diffusers. The location is fantastic for anyone with a car as it is super easy to access walks, restaurants and all the top sights in the Peaks within about 30 mins drive. We would absolutely recommend a stay here and would love to visit again.”

“We stayed in the shepherds hut was a comfortable couple of nights. Had a hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo , washing up liquid which surprised us . A pint of milk in fridge was a lovely welcome . Lots of books to read, we took a radio too . Very impressed with the hut and we will be back”

Rooms are lovely and clean and well stocked with the normal tea, coffee etc Breakfast is excellent, so much choice and cooked to order. 5 minute walk to Dunham Massey and lovely homely pub next door with a real coal fire”

“We have used these dog Kennels for many years and although we have moved house to Staffordshire we continue to bring our dog back here . She is an old dog now and we don't think it's right for her to go somewhere new this late in her life. The staff and management are really caring and I trust them completely. Thank you for doing a great job .”

“What a lovely little place. Can be romantic, can be a friend date, can even be something you do on your own. The key to this place is the fact that they keep the food simple. Very simply, there are no frills. You go here to put food in your belly and to enjoy the atmosphere. The lady serving is lovely making the food all the more nicer.”

“Stopped in 3 different rooms here now all have amazing bathrooms comfy beds warm and spotlessly clean. Location is probably best you will get in the area easy to get too but rural and quiet countryside. I tried to think of something negative to say but honestly I can't fault the place for the pricepoint.”

“This is a beautifully decorated, rustic, enchanting hotel. The 400 year old building is very comfy and warm. An extremely relaxing environment. A fairytale feeling to the aptly named Wizards retreat. Welcomed by the owner Ian and introduced to the area, given plenty of ideas for eating and day out opportunities. The suite (Merlin Suite) was extremely comfortable, warm and a delightful place to stay. Cake, biscuits, teas and coffees and toiletries all included and of a high quality. Just an absolutely delightful stay which we plan to repeat to experience one of the other suites there.”
