The Nag's Head
● Open“Decent pub, was there last night for halloween. I’m only writing this review and given a 5 star as I saw how the general public can be so rude to security yet head of security was calm and polite. Hats off to them. 5 star for head of security who rubs that pub! I think his name is Abi. Bar staff are nice. One of them who works their got totally drunk! Kept talking to the whole world and sticking her bum out! Saying she has an Argentina bum! Seriously!!? Where’s the respect in where you work?! Does not look professional in anyway of form. Management needs to review this, need to keep some standards in a working environment. Dj was awful not the one that was there a few weeks back. Maybe his new but what a let down! DJ was a disaster. Needs to change people was leaving bcoz of it and so did I. Only gave 5 star bcoz of head security otherwise would be a 2/3! They make us feel safe, protect us regardless of them getting abused! Respect to Security especially Abi.”

The Rochester Castle - JD Wetherspoon
● Open“First trip to a 'Spoons since the Referendum. Five stars for the fish and (salad instead of chips), food and price tag were great. Also props to the really lovely staff... in spite of my being a bit of an annoying customer (asking loads of questions & bit needy) they were all v kind, esp the tall guy who escorted me to the Condiments Table with such good humour - wish I'd got his name. Thanks again :)”

The Last Post - JD Wetherspoon
● Open“Just wandered in after a lovely big walk in Epping forest with a good old friend, and I have to say, what a fantastic weatherspoons! Ordered a small freshly battered cod and chips with mushy peas and a leffe blonde to wash it down (lunchtime deals of course! £6.99?! Can’t say fairer than that!) Can confidently say it was the best weatherspoons food I’ve ever had, fish was perfectly cooked, fantastically crispy batter whilst maintaining a juicy succulent cod piece in the middle, and might I say generous portions for a small plate! Perfectly poured crisp pint to top it all off, what more could you ask for? The last post? It’s my FIRST choice in Loughton let me tell you that much :)”

The staff are warm and welcoming and don't rush you,and if they have time will spend more time chatting to you. Part of the pub goes back to the 17th century with log or coal fire place.Lovely and cosy in winter or Christmas time.plus there are no games or music machines. Great for going with friends and family for a quite get togethers. They now have a wonderful outside sitting and eating area, which was beautiful during last summer heatwave.”

This hotel is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't be disappointed. Was a perfect base for working at the London Film Studios. We did upgrade to a premier plus room as would be there 3 nights and it was exactly as described.
