The King's Head, Earl's Court
“Lovely staff, environment, food and drink. Local for a friends work so decided to o there to check it out. Chef went above and beyond to ensure we had desserts too! Would love to go again for the next event/reunion!”
The Queens
“Amazing roast! Loved the beef especially. The staff and kitchen were very accommodating to my friend’s dietary requirements (gluten free). Super cosy vibes, very happy with the service and food!!”
The Charlotte Despard
“This pub was dragged from the depths of despair and is now a nice, friendly & homely pub, which is listed in the Good Pub Guide. It has a fine selection of local London micro breweries & beers & wines from around the world. You will not find the regular main brewery brands here except maybe a few select spirits. An amazing selection of snacks & sweets are on offer. The pub also has Legz, the 3 legged pubcat (a Rescue Cat of the Year winner). If you go on Tuesdays there's a free-to-enter quiz with prizes. It also has big screen TVs, bar & board games, darts, a pool table & video console games plus an eclectic juke box. Saturday nights are party nights & a regular vinyl spinner is radio DJ Liz Wheatley. The pub is available for hire for private functions.”
Cock Tavern
“I came in the other day with my son after viewing a house round the corner. Was looking at local bars to hopefully work in when I move to the area and this did not disappoint. Really friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere and location. Hopefully see more of the pub in the near future x”
The Herne Tavern
“We went on a Tuesday evening and it was like stepping into a pub from a Bill Bryson book. There was even an Irish band rehearsing songs on the fiddle. We weren't able to sample the food as the kitchen was closed, and although you can order Yard Sale Pizza there the barmen let us go and grab some chips from the chippy up the road. Wish more pubs were that chilled. Highly recommend a visit, the garden outside looked amazing too and would be perfect for a drink in any weather as it's covered...”
The Rose and Crown, Clay Hill
“This is a lovely old pub with a decent sized beer garden, and covered booths too. The real draw is the food though - we had an incredible Sunday roast (recommend the beef) with all the trimmings & finished with a couple of excellent desserts. I particularly liked the Guinness brownie & ice cream - absolutely lush! The service here is excellent too, really friendly & efficient. We had such a lovely time, we'll be coming back again very soon.”
Turner's Old Star
“Great old school pub! Pool table too, and good prices. Great pub to have in Wapping. Pies are tasty too! Good in the summer because of the sun trap outdoor area, and good in the winter because of the pubby indoors interior”
The Antwerp Arms
“Had a brilliant Sunday lunch at the pub for Father's Day. Great food, excellent service, and lovely, small outdoor area, beautifully planted. They have a traditional Sunday lunch menu, and also cater for vegans and vegetarians. The delicious vegan Wellington pictured.”
The Devereux
“Fantastic independent pub with really lovely owners. The pizzas are phenomenal (and good value for money) and they have a great range of different beers. The wines aren't bad either. The thing that really sets this place apart for me is their brilliant pub quiz every Monday. A lot of fun and a cut above your average pub quiz - although I'm yet to win...!”
British Oak
“Lovely place and really night friendly staff. Great selection of beers and good food. Highly recommended.”
The Leyton Star
“I had my 25th birthday party here and it was amazing! I booked karaoke in the function room which was really reasonably priced, the manager George was extremely welcoming and everyone had a great time- my friends who joined now want to do it for their birthday! You get a lovely room to yourselves and the karaoke machine was really easy to use, had all the songs and sounded great. We were in there for 3 hours singing to our hearts content! Thank you!!”
The Guildford Arms
“Our server was a nice gentleman, unfortunately did not get his name. Went with family, for a reunion of sorts. Visiting from Canada, so I've never been here. Ordered the set menu. Tomato soup (it was alright, a tomato basil or a tomato bisque would have been better), the imam's bayild (the topping was amazing, not the biggest egg plant fan), and the cheese for dessert (chutney on the sweet side). Would certainly come back and try something new. Coffee a little on the tart/sour side.”
The Mews Bar
“A nice alternative space in Catford with an excellent cinema too where you can take your pint and enjoy a good movie.”
Mccaffertys Bar & Guest House
“Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere too. Didn't order food, so unable to comment.”
Guy Earl of Warwick
“Superb experience. We only live 5 mins away and been meaning to go here since the refurbish / new management. Honestly proud to call this my local. The staff are welcoming, the food is absolutely fantastic (hot honey chicken burger is to die for), and the kids food is great value. It’s quality like gastro pub food, but without the pretentiousness and fussiness. Decor is lovely and clean and tasteful. Well impressed - we will be coming back regularly.”
Archers
“Review during Lockdown, July 2020: Almost felt like normal to go back to a pub again. Lovely welcome at the door from member of staff who was the monitor. The young chap explained the way it works of how to order through app. Some issues of some of the tables not appearing in the app or tickets not being closed but as this a new process for everyone quite understandable and staff kept their cool so customer service was of high level. They have tables outside - front and back. Would recommend booking if there is more than 2 of you. If you are not appy savy or the app doesn't work they still allow you to order from the bar as the app is not perfect and receipts are slow to be processed. Otherwise its super clean at all times and social distancing is being adhered to if you are looking for safe pub visit for punters of all ages over 18. They have one way system and show which tables are clean for use, just make sure your table isn't blocked for pre-booking to avoid being moved as the seating is cleaned down again. Sanitising stations available and toilets were clean during our visit. 3rd August: Archers is taking part in the Eat out to help out so don't delay...book ahead or if your local then just stop by if the app isn't working. First night out and its sad to see not many people taking up this offer but hoping people will take the plunge and get back to "normal" as its not heaving like most people believe it will be. Archers even give you the VAT off your drinks! How much more of a bargain can you get! Tables are kept clean and toilets have a system if you are worried. Have a night out and support your local pubs :)”
The Epsom Club
“Family 90th birthday. Good venue for a large group with lots of indoor and outdoor space. Bar good, Service good and food fair was very acceptable.”
The Rose Shenfield - Bar & Dining
“Really good cosy and friendly atmosphere in the restaurant or public bar, which is situated on the left as you enter. I highly recommend their Sunday roast options, including the 3 meat offering. Overall, a little gem of a place just opposite Shenfield High School.”
The Squirrel Inn
“Nice little dog friendly pub located just off the A3. It serves as a hotel with dining area. The area is bright and clean with cream carpets and fresh crisp towel napkins. Wine glasses on the tables were spotless and so was the cutlery showing they care about presentation and attention to detail. Overall, a very clean venue. We sat in the pub area which is smaller but there’s enough tables. Odd set up that you need to give your full name and contact number but that may be because of the hotel aspect. Cute little bar area. Traditionally we always order fish and chips to gauge a new venue. I believe a place can be judged on this staple dish. It did not disappoint. The portions were not too big or too small. The batter was crispy, not too oily and tasty. The cod flakes chunky. The chips were tasty too and crispy. Tartare sauce was good and they even gave us complimentary garlic bread with pesto dips for starters which was very tasty. My only criticism [minor one] was the chips and batter were slightly dark but not burnt suggesting possibly the fryer oil might need changing. It didn’t affect the taste to be fair. [This is my only criticism and a minor one at that]. We will be going back to sample the other dishes. The service was good. Staff were polite and attentive. The car park is nice and spacious. Outdoor seating area which is covered with roof and plastic sides for the winter months. The dog friendly touch made it the perfect spot to refuel in between walks.”
Stanwell Kebab House
“Just had a real treat in these bad times fantastic fish & chips friendly service very happy cheered us right up”
MYST WEST
“Been there first time was such a great experience with food, drinks(mocktails),and shisha with fruit head… all the staff members are on point. Music on point. Guys must visit this place and vibes 10/10”
Wimpy
“Forget 5 guys, I'll have a wimpy instead, was a bit irked that they don't call the ½ pounder a ½ pounder anymore, a double quarter pounder still sounds a bit stupid to me, seeing as to quarters make a half, Wimpy should be proud that they called it a ½ pounder. Still great food though & tea in tea pots. My 91 year old mum loves it as well.”
Caballo Lounge
“Really nice spot for brunch. The food was cooked to perfection, it was very tasty and the service was perfect. Definitely going to make this place our go to for brunch anytime we're wanting to eat outside”
Miller & Carter Epping Forest
“I have visited many Miller & Carter but this is the best ever Miller & Carter I have visited so far and I don't think anyone can beat them. Fantastic customer service, Great Quality food and Steak are just perfect. I'll highly recommend every Steak lover to visit this Miller & Carter.”
Tanyard Lane Bar & Kitchen
“6 of us girls came here for bottomless brunch. Food was amazing. Ali and Zee looked after us so well. They kept topping our drinks up and we got a lot more value for our money. Food was amazing! They were friendly and helpful and made our experience amazing. Will recommend it and will come here again”
The Sun
“Lovely pub. The bar staff were friendly. The garden us absolutely gorgeous. We came for the Thai food and wasn't disappointed. It was extremely yummy. Large portions. Great value. Would recommend. I will definitely be going back.”
The Swan
“Great pub with an awesome live music vibe. The new landlord is doing a cracking job. Decent beer on tap and a good pub menu as well. Highly recommended!”
The Land Of Liberty, Peace & Plenty
“No music. No TV. Just really good quality beer (not from the big boys) kept immaculately and atmosphere by the pound”
White Lion Amersham
“The food came promptly and was fresh and tasty the children's menu was good aswell the build your own dessert was a hit I had the mini desserts of which the bread and butter pudding was by far the best”
The Prince Blucher, Twickenham
“Super rugby pub, great place to meet before a Quins game - much more crowded for England. Then pop round the corner to Twickenham Ales brewery tap room for one for the walk to the stadium.”
