“Not a beer led pub, but still a decent cask pint. Landlady and dog, are a couple of characters, though I found the dog a bit brusk. I was there on a Wednesday evening, and it was a little quiet. However, I'm told there's quite a jazz scene there on weekends”

“I came here last year when I was working in the area. A few of my colleagues tried this place and really loved it, so I thought I’d try what their burgers are about! I’m not a drinker so I can’t really talk about the other half of their shop name! Burger was juicy, made to perfection and wasn’t rushed at all. It went well with the skinny chips (I hate fat chips), and the customer service was also very good. It’s a happy place to walk into and leaves you in a happy mood on your way out too!”

She supported the organisation and Co-ordination of the event, including a brilliant set menu. Catarina helped booked the Orchard Room and catered highly to dietary requirements. This was incredible birthday, fantastic event and great food. Highly recommend to book Megan’s for group events and dinner. The grilled chicken to the beef short ribs and lamb to my favourite hot cookie dough. Thank you again Megan’s!”

“I was there yesterday at a lunch party for my uncle and Aunt’s Diamond Wedding Anniversary. The food and the service was really wonderful and a credit to the Haven. The food was beautifully presented and served hot. The room was elegantly decorated for 25 guests seated at a long table. Nothing was too much for the staff, I was so impressed. With everything thank you so much for making it such a special day.”

“I come to this fish bar so often because the food is always so good! The fish and chips are just amazing the batter is so crispy and the chips are lovely, moreish and plentiful, recently tried the quarter pounder burger and it definitely won’t be the last it’s delicious and perfectly cooked. On top of that, the staff are SO friendly! Would 100% recommend”

“Incredible portions, beautiful food, welcoming environment and very helpful and attentive staff. This is the best Gastro pub in Surrey by miles. Great price point, play area for the kids and an adequate sized car park. It’s got mood lighting in the pub and more light in the restaurant, a great ambience for a long lazy lunch or a quick bite. We will definitely go back.”

“Great food,staff are polite, helpful and very freindly. The premises are well decorated and spotlessly clean. Our meals were well presented and had a wonderful home cooked flavour. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the central fireplace adds a lovely homely touch. Our server, Lotty is a joy and adds to the whole experience. Great food, great staff, treat yourself to an evening at the Mops, you won't be disappointed.”

“This place is great! I like the atmosphere and staff . I take my dog for walks and it’s always been a great stop for a cold drink and chunky chips for my dog girl . Today I was amazed of the quality of oysters and Sunday roast was served in very generous portions. The size of the pork cut its size of my leg lol . Must try !!!”

“Really nice outdoor garden. This place has vastly improved over the years. It has lots of outdoor seating some covered and some in the open which is great. The covered seating booths also have timer heaters which is a noce feature. Drinks are ok, cocktails were hit and miss. Also really appreciate that they are open on Mondays. And daving thest till last, you can actually get a fantastic sunday roast in Streatham common!”

“Firstly, the venue was welcoming and kept to a high standard, with personal touches for the occasion. The food was outstanding, the presentation of the food was beautiful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it- complements to the chef! The staff had such a warm and welcoming approach where nothing seemed too much. They joined in with the party which added a personal touch from Pratts and Paynes, making sure glasses were filled and everyone was having a great time. We couldn’t thank them enough for making the day so special. We would recommend Pratts and Paynes for any occasion!”

“After taking a break from this pub due to the previous management, I visited last night after work and was very impressed with the ambiance, food and great Guiness. This really in pub terms the equivalence of an Oasis. It's like an English country pub, but in Croydon. The vibe is relaxed with enough people to create a good atmosphere, without the craziness of other Croydon pubs. To eat, the had the stew which at £8.50 was amazing value, the main menu is pizza. To drink we had Guiness which was excellent, the wine selection is very good as well. The service was excellent, both efficient and friendly. The other customers, who seemed to be locals, were friendly and welcoming, but not imposing so we could enjoy our drinks and food at our table, and when going to the bar talk and meet other locals. Highly recommended for those who like pubs as pubs, not flashy wine bars, or sports bars, great food and drink, served well by friendly people with a local vibe, but not cliquey. For sure, we will be visiting again,”

“Had the absolute best experience at Crown & Anchor for a Christmas Roast with friends. We were a large group of 20, so I was super impressed with how quickly the food came out and we all got our food at pretty much the same time. I had the veggie mushroom, spinach and tofu wellington with cauliflower cheese on the side which was so delicious. All the roasts came with plentiful trimmings - roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots, red cabbage, sprouts and a Yorkshire pud. Oh and plentiful gravy too! Everyone commented on how filling and delicious their meal was. The staff had also very kindly added some extra special touches such as crackers on the table, to make our experience all the more Christmassy. The pub has such a relaxed and cosy atmosphere and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to Justine who helped me with the booking and the pre-orders of our group on the day. Would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a nice and relaxed meal with friends or family, with tasty food and fantastic service.”
