Davidoff of London
● Closed“After wanting to visit Davidoff for many years, I treated myself last week on my birthday to a day out. Never did I expect to meet both Edward and Eddie, I can honestly say that they two of the most genuine and kind men I've ever met. They allowed me to have a photo, sat and spoke with me for well over half an hour which completely made my birthday. Was extremely impressed with the professionalism of all the staff and the range of cigars on offer, safe to say several new additions where added to my humidor. Thank you Davidoff and team for making my birthday so special and I cant wait to return soon. Jody”

Havana Cigar Exchange - 1A St. James's Street

C.Gars St James's - Cigars & Whisky
● Closed“My absolute go-to spot for a cigar. Whenever I want to introduce friends to cigars this is the only place I will take them too. Dante and Sam are absolute superstars especially when it comes to newcomers. They have a lot of patience and are willing to share their expertise without being condescending or making rude remarks when 'newbies' ask questions (as I have found in other lounges). Their selection may not be as extensive as other places but it's made up by excellent service and very reasonable prices. As others have mentioned in their reviews, there isn't too much space so it's recommended you book in advance. However, the smaller space works especially well for socialising with other other people there and makes it feel like you're a guest in someone's house rather than a customer!”

St James's Park
● Closed“Beautiful park with lots of gorgeous views. The borders with plants are so nicely arranged, everything in the park is tidy (no litter on the ground etc). A lot of wildlife feeling comfortable next to the visitors - parrots, gooses, swans, ducks, squirrels. Great playground for children. Nice place to visit.”
-
The Whisky Shop
● Closed“Wanted to buy a friend a lovely whisky, something different from the regular shops so came to The Whisky Shop and the choice is unbelievable. The whisky ranges from reasonably priced to really expensive. The guy behind the bar was really knowledgeable and very helpful and helped me make the best choice.”

Cafe Murano St James
● Closed“Unpretentious decor, friendly service and an excellent menu. The Mushroom arancini and Pappardelle with taggiasca olive and rabbit ragu were particularly delicious. Perfect for a family dinner.”

Roderick Charles Jermyn Street London
● Closed“I needed a shirt and trousers for a book event the following evening. They fitted me out perfectly, took up the trousers in time and even pressed the shirt so I was in good order. The staff were friendly and fun to shop with. I'll be back!”

Harvie and Hudson - Mens Shirts London
● Closed“Very helpful chaps. I strolled in wearing an old but well kept three piece grey suit (which I intended to use for my neurosurgical FRCS examinations). I asked their advice on the cut and if I should change things. Their honest opinion was very much needed. They advised me to keep the suit. They did not ask me to buy anything but gave an honest appraisal of my attire. They did advise me to buy new shoes which I did from Jones. Highly recommend (NB: I did pass the examinations).”

Crockett & Jones, 92 Jermyn Street
● Closed“The only shoemaker I've found that knows more about footwear other than the shoes. Especially aftercare, they managed to find my exact shoe polish and brush kit that even church shoes didn't know much about.”

Tricker's
● Closed“Tricker’s are known for their heavy country Brogues and boots. In that category they are without equal. One can tell they are built to last for a very long time. Should the sole need replacing, one can send them to their Northampton factory. It currently costs £150, I believe. What is interesting are the options one has: there are rubber soles in various colours and if one wants the pull tab on a boot to have a different colour to match the sole, then that’s also possible. And not to forget: everything is made in Northampton. Nothing is sent abroad as with some other brands. What needs to be considered is the cost per wear. There are cheaper shoes, but how long do they last? Can they be repaired and if so, on the original last? In the end it’s better to get a pair of Tricker’s :)”

Beetlemania
● Closed“I can’t believe how helpful and accommodating the staff at Beetlemania are, They definitely know what they’re doing, I highly recommend them and will be telling my friends how good they are. To top it all when they told me the cost of the repair I was shocked as I thought it would of been so much more expensive. I have a new garage now and have already booked in for my mot and service later in the year.”

Joseph Cheaney & Sons
● Closed“Just starting a new job and was in search for some quality England made shoes. I made the right choice going into Cheaney. The difference in buying something online vs buying in store is the interaction and the experience from the latter! Marta at the shop showed me how to put on a pair of Chelsea boots properly - very useful advice indeed! I ended up buying a pair of black monk shoes for work, which got delivered to me and they are simply perfect! Will go back for the boots at some point. Thank you for the beautiful products and great service!”

D. R. Harris & Co.
● Closed“I cannot believe the last review. Assume he was talking about someone else. I felt compelled to log on and give a review after fantastic service again … from the lady pharmacist who has been described by friends as a ‘legend’… ‘better than a doctor’ … thanks again for the professional service and advice … over many years!”

New & Lingwood
● Closed“I've used New and Lingwood for years and usually attend the shop for suits and other bits however I ordered a shirt online and made the error of picking a linen one by accident. When i returned the package i did so using Royal Mail and didn't add tracking. Obviously Royal Mail lost the package. After following up with New & Lingwood they spend a week or so looking for it and Royal Mail said it was lost. New and Lingwood have returned to me with a Credit Memo and are honouring the refund anyway. A small gesture however I think it show's how they think of their customers. Very pleased to say I will continue to shop there thanks to Joel and his team (and the beautiful clothes).”

Jones Bootmaker
● Closed“Just bought my first Jones boots. Going there I wasn't looking to purchase anything, truth to be told, I was just window shopping. However, the customer service I received was first class, from Mohammed. He was very polite, attentive and informative. I felt valued and appreciated. I'm looking to go back for a bag next.”

Charles Tyrwhitt
● Closed“Went into the store on the 24/11 to get a suit and shirt for my son’s wedding, I never normally wear a suit. I was served by Chris R, I could not fault him, great customer service. He took a great deal of time making sure I got a jacket that fitted properly (different size than I would have got, he explained how people get the wrong size), I was in-between waist size for the trousers, so he arranged for them to be adjusted by them, they have just arrived at my home and fit perfectly. He also knew what size shirt I needed, and I tried on one to make sure, I have short arms and have never had a shirt that was not too long in the sleeve before, he suggested the colour which I would have picked and finally we decided on a tie to match the suit and shirt. I think he was trying to wind me up, have a bit of fun, with a suggestion of a bright orange tie. 10 out of 10 for Chris’s service and knowledge.”

Hawes & Curtis Flagship Store
● Closed“Great store, cool styles, friendly staff (for the most part). Everyone I interacted with was helpful, friendly, and pleasant apart from one person. Otherwise, the store is laid out beautifully and it feels like a proper British establishment. You may not get the quality and bespoke options that you’d find at other Jermyn Street establishments, but for the price of one custom shirt, you can buy six at Hawes & Curtis. Great value.”

From Michael Ltd

-
Edward Green
● Closed“Hands-down the best ready-to-wear and made-to-order shoe maker in the world. Maker of quintessential English shoes for both town and country, including the iconic Dover and Chelsea models. Crafted from the finest materials, Edward Green shoes are the only brand of shoe that has never given me a single moment of discomfort, from day one. Other brands rub or pinch until the shoe is broken in, but not Edward Green. The staff in the Jermyn Street store are knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Living where I do, I don't get to visit often, but when I do it's like visiting old friends. For me, Edward Green represents lasting quality, and expert craftsmanship. Simply the best.”
