“Fantastic! Decided to go out for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, and wanted to stay local. I ordered a lunchtime cheeseburger special, and my partner ordered a steak. Both delicious and cooked to perfection. Jack himself served us and is an extremely welcoming and personable guy. Cannot fault anything!”

“Cote - Sloan Square was the perfect choice for a pre-concert dinner. I arrived about 20 minutes before my reservation time and I was warmly greeted and seated. I have a food allergy so a manager stopped by the table to ensure that my needs would be cared for. The ambience and decor of this restaurant are very nice, bustling but in a quiet elegant way. I began with a kir royale. I then ordered from the prix fixe menu, selecting the salmon rillettes for my starter. The texture and flavours of this dish were very appealing. I loved the little cornichons and fresh dill. My main course was the pan seared sea bass topped with a fragrant pistou, which was absolutely delicious. My dinner was so enjoyable, and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.”

“Mixed kebab was very nice, lamb was tender and potion was a good size. The square tin boxes the food is delivered in makes it easy to put left overs in the fridge. Deliver man was friendly and our meal was priced fairly.”

“I travel the length and breath of the country for work. This is place is t standing in its field. Budget pub done so well, the food is spot on every time and in the last year I've eat here lots. Staff are fantastic too, bar one but he maybe shy or a bit special who knows. Any way good beer, great clean food and always busy with locals and people like me just passing through. “Lovely little pub with a raised area in the back. A mixture of booths with lovely decorative glass, as well as high and low tables. The barmaid was lovely: cheerful and polite. The pub was clean and tidy. The Guinness was excellent”

I got a little drunk with my friends and dropped a glass, which was embarrassing, but the guy was so tolerant of my drunkenness (thank you) I will say, although the pub is lovely, the toilets are stinky (pee), which is the only thing. “Great Pub! came in on Friday evening, great atmosphere, nice music, not too loud, my girlfriend had a Sourdough Pizza which was awesome! I had the Jerk Salmon dish was delicious. Great selection of beers too!! Staff were really chatty and fun and helpful. Good Stuff!!”

“My first visit to The Red Lion, I’m ashamed to say, especially as I used to live around the corner for over twelve years!! Anyway, attended tonight for a Rotary Club function, and what I sincerely hope will be our new club meeting venue each week. There were 11 of us tonight, and the food was served to perfection. Portion size is superb. I had the nachos, which was huge, and did me proud. Others ordered various items and were were all equally impressed. My friend sitting next to me had the pork ribs. I swear there was half a pig, and having had to help him, I know what I’m having next time. Staff friendliness and positive attitude is excellent and put the venue we are currently at to shame. With great parking in the road adjacent, and close by, after 6.30pm, as well as the bus service too, with stops almost outside; life just gets better. Oh, free WiFi, pleasant surroundings, and great food (at sensible prices), all make up a perfect package. Will I be back? You bet your life I will, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.”

“Cosy interior with fireplace ideal for an indulgent hot chocolate. Good choice of beers on tap. Unique large outdoor space right by the river Thames. Women's toilets are very glam! A quality venue.”

“Beautiful decor. Very clean. Food - average. They could do much better with the desserts. Service can be quite poor at times especially over busy weekends. My review (above) was from a few years ago. I am very happy to say service was very good this time and food arrived quite promptly and tasted much better! The young staff members were polite and energetic, keeping up with the swelling crowds. There are plenty of toilet booths, again to accommodate the massive crowd and space. Hence the toilets remain clean as well. I have no hesitation to give a 5 stars rating.”

“This pub is great we’re so lucky to have it as our local. The atmosphere is always nice and there’s so many different areas to chill and drink with friends family or a date. The garden in the summer huge and the best around and now they’ve put up a gazebo for the winter it’s lush. The staff are fantastic and are all so friendly and the food is lovely especially the chicken wings. Really recommend the Griffin”
