“This restaurant is within a hotel and the ambience within this restaurant is amazing! Very cosy and felt relaxing and comfortable. Ordered escargot for starter and it is one of the best French food that I can get in central London. The mains were divine! Lobster Thermidor was cooked into perfection and cheese just melt into your mouth. Loving the rib eye steak, medium rare juicy and tasty!! Definitely would recommend people to come here. Although the price of the food is on the higher end, however worth visiting.”

“I came here after searching locally for highly rated Sunday roast and they did not disappoint!! A very generous plate of beef with roasties, veg, Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese. “This really is a busy pub if you wish to dine. Especially popular with the locals. There is so much history here and being listed as a Grade 2 building. “The Wells Tavern is one of Hampstead's best gastro pubs offering all that is needed to be a neighbourhood favourite including a great location, outside seating with heaters and large canopies, good service, tasty food and two floors offering formal and informal dinning. The prices are on the high end when compared to other areas of town, but it is part of the "Hampstead premium". The ground floor is a traditional bar with tables, sofas and all around dog friendliness. The food menu includes plates of chorizo with red pepper and gherkins, cod fishcakes, burgers and grilled tuna steak. Tables outside are at a premium when the sun shines. The upstairs is made up of three small dining rooms, with a more formal menu and setting. The scallops (£14.50) part of the starter menu where fresh and full of flavour, while the ribeye steak (£29.50) was tasty. The portion of chips could be larger but they were perfectly cooked. The duck leg (£19.85) was cooked perfectly.A great spot for drinks, a quick bite to eat or a more formal meal if you do not mind the premium prices.”

“The Blackfriar gets it's name as it was built on the site of an old monastery. When you walk in the first thing you do is look around you everywhere as it is stunning. It is part of the Nicholson chain of pubs so it does decent food, I had a vegetable&lentil pie and it set me up well for a day of drinking! In the 1960's The Blackfriar was nearly lost to redevelopment, which goes to show how fragile the future of pubs even the most historic can be. It is conveniently located across the road from...you guessed it Blackfriars Station, it is on the Thameslink or the London Underground.”
