“Only had the Singapore chow main as I was driving past. Must say it was surprisingly delightful with no after effects what so ever. Simple and clean as well as being cheap. The decor appears to be untouched since around 1970 and not the most attractive looking take away but food was good which I guess which matters the most in the modern days of online ordering where not many actually sees the place except for the reviews online. Will be back with further review next time after perhaps a bigger order.”

“I've only ever driven through Cheam before my visit yesterday, a trip by public transport (tram and train) from Croydon specifically to visit the Whitehall museum, housed in a grade II* listed former domestic dwelling dating from before the reign of Henry VIII. While the museum is an important place of reference for local history, geared more towards children than adults, it also houses the excellent Freedom Caffe' tearoom. The restrictions imposed by such an old, historic house may mean they can't use a normal commercial coffee machine but the range of soft drinks is impressive and more importantly, the vegan options for lunch are delicious. I highly recommend both the vegan sausage roll with salad and the vegan Greek. Then there are the cakes... The only vegan option on the day was a chocolate pear and apple cake but it was gorgeous and the staff were attentive and friendly and the food reasonably priced. I also noted the fresh pasta preparation. There's more to Cheam than the museum but whatever else you're doing it's well worth making sure you visit the Freedom Caffe' for a drink and a bite to eat.”

“One of the few places in Enfield that provides all-round comfort. A welcoming and warm atmosphere from the moment you step through the door. I usually come here to get away from my home office and do some work. The food is amazing, the coffee is exquisite and the hosts/hostesses have never been anything but courteous, friendly and helpful. Suffice to say, I am now a regular!”

“I was a little worried upon receiving my delivery to find a note asking me to leave a positive review in exchange for a discount. This made me worry that all the positive reviews I'd read on here before ordering were bogus. But I was pleasantly surprised to find the food is just as delicious as everyone says! They nailed the chicken tikka masala - good quality chicken, the sauce was spot on. A portion of pilau rice is just enough for one person. They even threw in some poppadoms and mint sauce for free - which you don't often see these days! I will be ordering from here again.”

“The food is great. The tamarind duck was perfectly cooked and not too sweet. The coconut rice was delicious and the beef massaman was anogher great choice. Unfortunately there was only one waitress so she was a little overworked but still gave great service. We'll definitely be visiting Mai Thai again.”

“I often eat at canons cafe with my wife and family members, it can be difficult finding a really good cafe in the local area which offers a warm, friendly service, accompanied with an excellent choice of food on the menu, including 'specials of the day'. Without hesitation, I can honestly say canons ticks all the right boxes and I would not hesitate in recommending! “The menu leaves you spoilt for choice everything sounds devine. I have never had lamb doner in a burger and must say it is just amazingly delicious... I have also been wanting to eat cheesy fries for a very long time but can not find any place that does it the way I would like it to be until I came to Burg:r. The cheesy fries is just so mouthwateringly good! Thank you to the chef as the quailty of the food is just brilliant and delicious. Will definitly go back again and try something new on the menu.”

The service is always high quality and they have contact plugs so you can work/study whilst sipping a coffee or fresh squeezed smoothie.”

We recently held a charity event for the British Heart Foundation and they generously donated a box full of lovely fluffy dhoklas. I love their service and food too. Highly recommend them. We should all support independent gems like this, too many of the chains are ripping us off and giving poor quality since lockdown.”
