“We went to the dog and truck in Stepney and watched the rugby in a large group (25), they gave us an entire private area which was lovely and the deposit you got back on a tab (which was so reasonable!). The service was excellent and a lot of our party had the pizza offer. Equally the Guinness was poured well and there was a large variety of gins and spirits to choose from. I think it’s a wonderful pub to book as a large group and would suggest anyone to book there - easy to get to via transport links as well. Will be back :)”

“Stopped at this eatery whilst in the area and was pleasantly delighted to find some good quality Italian food. There was 6 of us and all of us were happy with our choices of antipasti and main. Calamari, garlic pizza, baked mushrooms as starters and fettuccine alle vongole, carbonara, risotto and linguine alla siciliana for main. Will be back.”

“My favourite roast in the area! We visited the pub again this Sunday and it was as good as usual. We didn't make a reservation and so we had to wait for 10-15min for a table. However, staff were very friendly and promptly accommodate our request. The roast was delicious, very generous size and very short wait to have the food brought to the table. “Location is just on the edge of Twickenham town centre. Good pub ambience. There’s a nice all weather garden terrace which is great. Nice food menu with well thought-out selection of tantalising contemporary dishes and a wide array of ales and beers. I had the wild boar sausage served with creamy mash, green beans and lovely onion gravy. My lunch companion had the pan fried seabass served with green beans, lovely spring onions mashed potatoes. This was topped with white wine creamy sauce that had brown shrimps and chives. I must say the food was generally above average quality. The restaurant team and the waiting staff were extremely polite, eager to help and very cheerful.”

Food was great, great selection of beers, service was good and the secret garden at the back was a bonus. I really not sure why the pub next door is so full when this little gem was half empty, but we took it to our advantage.”

“Came here for a party. Had a brilliant night. Pub seemed like the pubs I knew back in the early 80s, but in a really good way. Staff all very friendly and helpful, prices very fair. Food was supplied for the party, I’ll be honest I’m really not sure who did the catering, but it was all very good, a finger food buffet. There were two bars that I could see, not sure if there are other function rooms. Very near Berrylands station. Parking seemed easy.”

“After taking a break from this pub due to the previous management, I visited last night after work and was very impressed with the ambiance, food and great Guiness. This really in pub terms the equivalence of an Oasis. It's like an English country pub, but in Croydon. The vibe is relaxed with enough people to create a good atmosphere, without the craziness of other Croydon pubs. To eat, the had the stew which at £8.50 was amazing value, the main menu is pizza. To drink we had Guiness which was excellent, the wine selection is very good as well. The service was excellent, both efficient and friendly. The other customers, who seemed to be locals, were friendly and welcoming, but not imposing so we could enjoy our drinks and food at our table, and when going to the bar talk and meet other locals. Highly recommended for those who like pubs as pubs, not flashy wine bars, or sports bars, great food and drink, served well by friendly people with a local vibe, but not cliquey. For sure, we will be visiting again,”

“This is a lovely old pub with a decent sized beer garden, and covered booths too. The real draw is the food though - we had an incredible Sunday roast (recommend the beef) with all the trimmings & finished with a couple of excellent desserts. I particularly liked the Guinness brownie & ice cream - absolutely lush! The service here is excellent too, really friendly & efficient. We had such a lovely time, we'll be coming back again very soon.”

“A superb place with a wonderful setting. There was sumptuous decor all around us and the brilliant DJ ensured that the atmosphere was on point from the moment we walked in. The drinks were reasonable in terms of price and there was a great range to choose from. All the members of staff were attentive and welcoming which made it an even more pleasant experience.”

“I booked my table online 20mins before arrival, but it did look like they would have space for walk-ins, 8pm Thurs evening. Very nicely decorated, the DJ was amazing!! The heater system is great, I didn't feel cold at all. Drinks were half price - I'm not sure why. I had the lamb burger which was delicious, and a mango mocktail. Very filling. I did see some people order a dry ice decorated dessert which looked fun. And a few birthdays - the staff come out with candles and birthday music. The shisha was great, smooth, disposal pipes - Using a heat management system, lasted 2hrs. I would visit again.”
