"Granite takes the money but doesn’t do the work. Gives absolutely 0 privacy to residents & uses the cheapest materials possible around the building. Gives 30 mins notice before they want to do whatever to your apartment and just punches in the door code and let themselves in. (One time I was in the bathroom, one time I was naked aka freshly outta the shower). Let’s see, what else… as someone who owns an emotional support animal, granite has me go through a third party Pet-screening website (which was completely fine by me) and have me fill out all these information just so that they could 1. Mess up the fact that I have an emotional support animal and try to charge me pet rent for 75$ a month (ESA are by law, rent free) 2.threaten me that they are gonna “take actions” if I don’t deal with my pet noise (as they claimed to be dogs barking) when I have A CAT. If you had me fill out all the info, pls LOOK AT THEM. Idk, guys, think before you want to move in"
"I lived in the building for 13 years, 2007 until last year-- it was Warren House and then Wisteria Apartments. The rent was reasonable, furnished and my utilities paid. Last July a note was posted on the office door informing us of Granite's takeover and that they looked forward to working with us; a few days later all of our apartment doors suddenly bore a notice headed NOTICE OF LEASE TERMINATION. We were all essentially ordered out of the building within the month. The building contained a number of elderly retirees, but they received no more consideration than the rest of us. One of Granite's spokespersons said in an interview that they had given the residents the option to break their leases, but I don't personally know anyone they did this for. Out we went in the midst of a pandemic. Some "working with" us! I will say this: I will never rent from Granite, ever. Allow me to add that I don’t appreciate the out of context introductory blurb that makes it seem as if I’m approving of “Qübe.” I’m definitely not."
"Qube apartments were taken over by Granite Management in July 2020. Before Granite came, the apartments were well managed. Now, things are getting increasingly worse, and I'm leaving this month. Here are a few issues I've had. 1) They do not answer maintenance requests. I put in a request to fix a clogged shower drain on a Monday and waited a week. Nobody came to the apartment, so I finally called Granite and told them they needed to fix this by tomorrow. After 1 week of my shower being clogged, the tub was disgusting. It took me 2 hours to finally make it white again. 2) They will do anything they want to the building without regard for the residents. I understand that Granite wants to make a few renovations because the complex is old. However, they will send you emails 30 minutes before construction and say "your water is going to be turned off for the afternoon". You couldn't at least give 3 days notice? Don't they have a plan? It's also 9am on a Saturday today, and I can hear hammering and sawing from my bedroom because they are doing construction in the room above. When I called the main office to ask why they are working on a Saturday, they told me there was nothing they could do to help me and HUNG UP the phone. 3) They are shady. This apartment complex used to home to many older people (60+). It appears that Granite has no qualms about taking advantage of them. I'm in my mid-twenties, so I know how to stand up for myself. Anyway, my friend who lived down the hall was told he had 3 days to vacate his apartment because his lease was ending. My friend is 65 years old and has a horrible memory, so it makes sense he forgot. However, Granite could have given him a few extra days to make a plan. Mind you, there was not a new tenant who needed to move into his apartment, Granite just wanted to start renovating his room. My friend told me he ended up sleeping in his car for 3 days before he could find a place to stay. My friend is a 65 year old veteran who was kicked out of his housing during a pandemic. I'm really disappointed in Granite, and I hope they will hear these criticisms and try to improve. Renters beware."
