Campus Inn

"Right around midnight, while I was in bed with the TV on, a belligerent (and possibly drunk) desk employee (calling himself the "owner") came pounding on my door screaming nonsense about no guests and how he was calling the cops on me. I was alone. Had no visitors at any point. The TV was on volume level 8. Even after seeing I obviously had no visitors and wasn't making noise, he still kept yelling and rambling about calling the cops. Dude smelled like booze and BO (or maybe bad cologne). He actually did call the cops. They told me to have a good night, then stayed and talked to him for a while longer. Nothing else from him after that. A few days later, I noticed an extra $65 charge on my card from the hotel that I had to dispute with the credit card company. So, you get some interesting live theatre if you stay here and are seemingly randomly chosen to be part of it. Edit: I stayed here and wrote this review several years ago and am unsure why the date listed isn't correct, but it was this location (Purdue). Maybe (hopefully) they're under new management by now, as the reply below might suggest."

"Bedbugs! Yes, bedbugs, in an otherwise prime location in Lafayette, close to University campus. When I complained, and ask for my money back, the owner threatened to go after me if I published the photos of the bedbugs in my mattress. I eventually got my money back, but - please - for your own safety: Avoid this place! P.S. I see in the other reviews that I was not the only guest who saw the bedbugs, nor the only one who found the owner extremely rude and threatening his guests."

"No ceiling height bar on drive though to warn of low clearance pulling into parking lot. Owner called the cops on me after my roof rack broke and busted my rear window. Didn't even comp my room. Calling the local inspector on this business to see if they are up to code. He mentioned this happens allot. It must have been under 8ft because I've never scraped anything with it. Lots of damage to my bike rack. He is a jerk. Update: Owner replies 3 years later to provider slander and accusations of damage to their building from a bicycle. Very unprofessional. The very fact that there are almost as many 1 star reviews as 5 says it all. Have a good day and dont stay here."

"We had an excellent stay at the Campus Inn. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It's in a great location and the room was very clean. The wifi is a little tricky but once we figured it out it was a perfect stay. Definitely looking to stay here again on our next visit to Purdue University & Wolf Park."

"Clean rooms, right in the center of West Lafayette restaurants, strong hot showers, good beds, for the price it couldn't be beat! Very clean with no smells, heater worked well, quiet, in-room coffee & refrigerator. Proprietor can't find employees, so he & family are doing EVERYTHING, so be patient and try to be nice. No breakfast offered now, but there are lots of options in the area and a Target a block away if you want to make your own."
