Cafe Rio Fresh Modern Mexican

"Awful experience, two times in a row now. Ordered online and Meal still hadn't been started 25+ minutes after the pick up time. They tried making it right by giving us our next meal free. The rice was undercooked and absolutely not worth the wait or headache. Hoped it was a fluke, so decided to order again online. Unfortunately this experience was much worse. 30+ minutes after the pick up time (about an hour after ordering) and asking the cashier twice for our order, it still hadn't been started yet. They helped and completed other orders from people that were coming into the restaurant but continued to ignore our requests for pick up. We left and got Wendy's instead. Long story short, don't order online. Or at all. But especially online."

"For the love of all things holy. Why can't any improvements be made at this business? Went (again) today, after waiting 10 minutes to even be acknowledged we ordered steak salads, the manager shouts out that they are out of steak. My husband asked are you out or is it just not ready (there was some steak on the grill). She yelled at the employee that that steak was for a different order and she wasn't cutting anymore. The manager is literally one of the rudest people I have encountered. This is the 3rd time ai have left without ordering and feeling so sad for the two guys that work there. She is AWFUL to them and customers. Why is she so mad when I am just placing an order from the menu? Its so embarrassing."

"I was very disappointed in my experience this evening 1-25-24. First try to order my usual burrito with steak enchilada style with sour cream inside and out. First they had ran out of steak and had to prepare more, they asked if I wanted to wait i agreed. During this time the extremely rude manager treated the employees very poorly. Arguing and just making a scene. Another customer was waiting behind me and asked to have his meal prepared a certain way which the manager did not agree to and began to argue with this customer right in front of me. Well after waiting about 20 ish minutes still no update on whether or not steak was about done. I went back up and asked and was told that it was still going to be longer. I changed my order to chicken and asked for sour cream inside and was told no we won’t do that. At this point I gave up and got a refund for the meal I already paid for but never received. We have gone to this location several times and it just does not even remotely compare to the location off Franklin. I love cafe rio but this kuna location has major leadership issues I have never been treated with such disrespect at any food location."

"For starters all the food is lacking flavor, badly cooked and overpriced, we paid $4 for a small half kids quesadilla, RIDICULOUS! The workers were slow, incompetent and messed up my order. Whatever you do DONT eat here! You will not enjoy it"

"This is our third time trying this Cafe Rio and unfortunately will be our last. We've given them the benefit of the doubt each time, considering our food was cold the first two times we've tried them despite dining in. Tonight we decided to give them another try. We stood in line for 5 minutes before someone asked what we wanted, even though the people ahead of us had ordered before we had walked in. It seemed like the staff was very slow moving and they spoke so softly or too quickly, you couldn't hear/understand them. I ordered a salad with chicken. The guy at the end of the counter that added lettuce to my salad added so much lettuce that the container that was once full of lettuce for other dishes, now had barely any lettuce left for customers behind us. I was shocked he was able to cover my salad due to the amount of lettuce he added. We opted to take our food home instead of dining in. Once home, I started removing some of the excessive amounts of lettuce and promptly found an earwig amongst the lettuce. Talk about appetite completely gone! Completely disgusted. I attempted to call the store to make them aware but the number listed goes to a call center and not the actual restaurant. I did request a refund for the salad through the customer service agent at the Cafe Rio call center. We also brought the salad back to the restaurant so they would be aware and the manager on duty was disgusted as well and offered a new salad, which we declined. She also offered a refund but we let her know we had called and gotten that taken care of. Unfortunately we will not be returning to Cafe Rio, and I highly recommend checking your food before consuming if you should choose to dine here. I should note, I have seen a previous post on this same establishment about bugs being found in food but because that was so long ago I assumed that had been addressed. I guess not."
