AdventHealth Centra Care Winter Haven

"Last Friday I left work sick, after being unable to schedule an appointment online, I called the location and made an appointment for 12:20pm. After checking in the nurse told me it would be about 1 hr wait before being callled in, and I had to pay the full amount of almost $300 or 50% to be seen by the Dr. I have insurance and paying was never and issue. Eventually 2 1/2 hrs later i was called in and was sent to a room where my vitals were taken almost immediately by the attending nurse and was told the Dr would be in shortly. I waited in the room, and was completely ignored for over 1 1/2 hrs. Eventually a different nurse came in and asked whether i've been seen, after telling her i hadn't she went out to speak with someone. Dr Glaser finally came in, with a cocky attitude and very unprofessional, he didn't have any information with him from the nurse who had taken my vitals, and he never sat down. I was never greeted or received an apology. He asked me what was going on, checked my ear, throat and listened to my heart beat, this was completed in under 2 minutes, he then said i had a sinus and ear infection. I've been to a few Centra Care locations and this is the worse experience i've had. I told the nurse I'm type 2 diabetic and explained to hear that a few people at my job had been sick, that was not taken into consideration, no tests were ordered. Medication was prescribed, and of course upon getting to the pharmacy I had to call Centra Care because it wasn't called in, then to find out the pharmacy it was sent to was not the one I had asked Dr Glaser to send it to. It's sad that some medical professionals only care about the money and not the patients, you guys should do better.,"

"Everyone knows the receptionists set the tone for appointments, which was going fine until the younger lady with black hair and a headset on opened her mouth loudly complaining about how “everyone waits till it’s almost closing to come in here”. Mind you, it was 7:10pm! Perhaps she should be reminded that not every county has the privilege of having urgent cares that accept their insurance locally, some counties have to drive over an hour to seek care when things happen. I always thought it was best to not clog ER departments with non-emergency visits, so I came here. Big mistake. I won’t be back to this location purely based on her rudely letting myself and the young woman behind us know how annoyed she was that we dare set foot in this clinic 50 minutes till closing. A little kindness goes a long way. I didn’t expect my son to injure himself tonight and surely didn’t want to drive this far as much as she didn’t want anyone entering the clinic the last hour, but there we were. So sorry to inconvenience her and the whole clinic by seeking care for my son. The other blonde receptionist that waited on us as well as staff in the back were super friendly and welcoming though. So thank you for ending our visit on a good note."

"Was looking online for the closest Urgent Care facility and saw Advent Health facility. Setup an appointment for 2:40, text came back to show up at 2:25 (paperwork I guess)! Arrived at 2:15, walked in and they confirmed my insurance and said it could be a 1 to 2 hour wait! What? Why make an appointment? They said I could wait in the car and they would call me…they did…at 4:33, They take 6 patients in at a time which means I could possibly be the 6th patient seen (maybe another hour or so!) I left at 4:30 (darn…missed my 2:40 appointment!) I should have know better with the facility when I got there and noticed all the garbage in and around all the bushes and parking lot. I really would not recommend this facility."

"Absolutely amazing staff and Dr! From the friendly greeting of the front desk staff, the nurses and Dr. Glaser himself, they were all awesome and sweet and truly care. We had gone to Winter Haven Hospital the night before and were treated horribly and basically dismissed. So the next morning I took my husband here to be see what was wrong and why he was in so much pain.Turns out he had slipped his disk in his lower back and had some swelling. I would highly recommend going here if you ever need to go to an urgent care."

"I first wanted to say that this place is highly recommended!!! You do have a wait time but that is expected as this is an urgent care not a primary doctors office; there are many sick people and they do other services as well, so they have their hands full. Had such a great experience taking my father. The front desk ladies Tammy, Shanley, & Oriana were very professional & nice. Dr. G is the best doctor, fast & efficient! The nurses in the back Josue & Annie were very nice & the X-ray tech Roberto was very nice as well. We will be coming back in the future for any urgent care needs."
