Pet hotel in Edinburgh

“A no fuss hotel near the railway station and the major tourist attractions. The bus stop is right opposite the hotel and makes it really accessible from everywhere. The rooms were spacious and the staff was helpful too. The welcome drink was good too! Though we wish the views from the room were great too, it leaves much to be desired.”

“Great room for a reasonable price. We stayed only one night but I would stay longer next time without hesitation. Clean and warm (this is not usual in the UK) room, super friendly staff, cool atmosphere, the only problem for us was the water pressure in the bathroom.”

“Spent two nights 20/21st January. Staff on reception were excellent so friendly and nothing was to much for them. We were in room 8 it was lovely very clean and cosy . Breakfast was excellent . And Good choice of food Had a meal in restaurant. Food was great nice and hot on arrival and very little waiting time once ordered . The restaurant staff were lovely so friendly . Bar staff really nice too . We will definitely be back”

“We had a wonderful stay here at The Haymarket and Lairg Hotel. Friendly and informative staff. Our stay was out of season so it was lovely and peaceful which is what we wanted. There was a little hiccup with another guest but after a quick phone call to reception, the manager dealt with the issue quickly and personally and gave us the reassurance we needed. Breakfast was served quickly and fresh. Nice selection of cooked and continental items. Our en suit room was clean and tidy. It was equipped with essentials including an iron and a hairdryer and plenty of storage for our luggage. We also had a brochure detailing the many sights and attractions in and around Edinburgh in our room. We would 100% stay here again and may do so in the near future and bring our children with us. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”

“Booked with this Travelodge as a cheap weekend getaway and was more than impressed. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about local attractions and places to eat/drink. Room was very clean, and the other lodgers rather quiet (although it was not peak tourism season anyway). Placed on the second floor, with a view of Waverly station. We were also able to check in a bag 6hours before check in, and leave luggage with them after checkout which made train travel via Waverly station a breeze. All in all I would recommend if you are looking for a bare essentials, cheap place to stay - one that is clean and in a fantastic central location.”

“Not the prettiest Hotel on the outside but Brill inside, clean, tidy and well appointed rooms. Excellent breakfast and bar and a spa with swimming pool, sauna/steam room and a decent gym make this a very comfortable hotel for a stay. Exterior windows could have done with a clean however overall enjoyed my stay”

“We had a very warm welcome to the room was available early at no extra charge and we able to relax at once. Breakfasts are good value, staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is conveniently situated beside a shopping centre and on several bus routes into the city centre”

“Having stayed previously it is good to see the refurbs being carried out room xcellent clean room with comfy beds,the evening meal of highland chicken was top class as was the dessert,breakast Was very good with excellent choice . Would have prefered tea/ coffee on the tables rather than having to get up everytime.”

“For a 3* hotel we found this over & above our expectations. On arrival we were greeted by very pleasant and helpful staff. Underground car parking available at £15 which is ideal. Room was lovely & clean & warm, nice bathroom/shower. Breakfast was really good. Only 15 minute walk to Princes St etc. Well impressed.”

“Superb stay here the weekend before Christmas. My first time in Edinburgh and I really felt at home here which I can only thank the staff for. Quality of breakfast was great, the sleep was peaceful and the care and the facilities were very clean. The walk to town was no more than 15 minutes and it’s a very intuitive route to follow. Thanks to everyone at the Crowne Plaza for an incredible stay. We’re still here and we already miss it!”

“Stayed one night for the purpose of work and it did not disappoint, the staff were amazing, especially the boy who was training on his first day. The breakfast was very good too and the lady who served us did an amazing job. The rooms are a bit small but very cozy and for the price paid couldn’t of asked for better. Definitely will stay again if in the area.”

“Love these stores! Glad to have one close to work. Staff always welcoming, friendly, very helpful and always remember us! Great selection of raw and natural treats and foods for cats and dogs. Has a good choice of ruffwear harnesses. Would say the Morningside store has slightly more toys to choose from but still enough to keep pets happy. They also have a groomers here that you can book! Great to see a family run business do well and manage to expand over the years! Great local store to support”

“Nice and clean! Me and my family were in other Travellodges before but none of them were as clean as this one. All you need when you sleep in a hotel. Very good location and nice places just round the corner to go f.ex. for a breakfast in the morning. Only downside is a Wi-Fi. Not expensive (£3 for 24/h) but you would expect something like this included in the price. And cause of a very poor signal in the hotel we had no other choice than buy it.”

“Tailors the visits to suit your pets needs, very flexible and reliable, posts updates and photos of my cats, they are always happy and healthy when I return, 5 star service, would happily recommend.”

Upon research I realised the best place to leave my precious furry pet was in the care of Weronika at pawsome. My pet barfii loved her company and the walks he got to experience around the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Not only did I get to go on holiday with peace of mind that my pet is in safe hands. But barfii also had an exciting and exhilarating time in the hands of pawsome. Definitely recommend.”

“The hotel has a beautiful view facing the rolling hills. The rooms were clean and the service friendly. The water pressure was fantastic. The showers were like home. The restaurant served gòd food. The medium rare steak was the best. However, they start packing up breakfast 5 minutes before time so watch out. Overall, good experience.”

“Excellent and friendly staff. Whatever I needed was accommodated for me. Rooms and bathroom were clean with an amazing shower-head faucet. Good air circulation with AC in the room. Great continental breakfast with many choices (£14/person). Hotel near many attractions and bars: We were able to walk the city. There is a 24-hr convenient store open nearby as well. We paid ~$140/night for 1 full bed (these are bigger than American standard full) and one additional cot. The only complaint I have would be the pillows were a bit hard for my liking on all the beds.”

“Room was warm and clean. Beds are comfortable. Considering it's a hostel it was quiet. Loo and shower were clean. Bar and restaurant are open till one , reception is 24 hours. Didn't realise bed linen and towels are extra when we booked but you can loan them at a reasonable price . The hostel is a short uphill walk from the train station but the walk passed the shops etc is lovely”
