"I ordered two birth certificates on June 26, 2024, using the website, and was immediately charged $45.95. It is now August 19, 2024, and they still have not arrived in the mail. I also tried to call, listened to the telephone tree two times, and could not figure out how to actually talk with someone. There is always the possibility I made an error. However, I will never know unless I can actually make human contact. I will give it one more week, and since I used a credit card, I should be able to dispute the charge. This does not speak well about city government. However, here in Oregon, we have the same challenges."
"I ordered my birth certificates online 12/1/23 And I haven’t received it yet.. and they it would take up to 5-7 days and it been 2 weeks and I still didn’t receive them"
"It was quick and easy. No lines, you fill out the form on a computer, pay. Take the receipt to the window, they ask a couple of questions and she printed the certificate. It cost $22.00 for a birth certificate and $27.00 for a death certificate. It took less than twenty minutes."
"It's a very simple process. I have had to do it several times. I fill out my stuff on the kiosk and then I receive my birth certificate at the desk very simple and fast. No more than 15 minutes, even with a crowd"
"I had to get a birth certificate for my son who was born at home, and I'd been having a terrible time with many roadblocks for the past month from various health institutions. At the vital records dept, the security guard /concierge/ escort and the woman in the private room who deals with all the paperwork helped to make this happen. The concierge (?? not really sure what his job title is) was so kind to me that he even put extra coins in my parking meter so that it didn't expire while I was waiting. He escorted me to/from the entrance I parked by. The woman who helped me get the birth certificate really worked hard to make this happen. Some of my paperwork wasn't completely right on a small technicality, so it wasn't going to happen but they made it happen. It's nice to see that city government agencies can actually provide great service at times, when typically at other agencies the experience has not been this good for me. These people truly saved my a** as I really really needed that birth certificate. Thank you to Cincinnati Vital Records! I hope that other people will also receive service that is this good."
