"This is the cutest tree with sweet seashells added by people remembering family or time at the beach. Every once in a while we can see someone is removing the shells and throwing them on the ground. The tree is healthy and strong so not sure why they do this so frequently."
"This should not be a “thing”… it’s literally a trash tree. Fishing line, plastic, ribbon… thank goodness someone cleaned it off. There is a big movement to keep plastics out of the ocean and some people are still adding plastic and things that take forever to bio degrade to a tree less than a quarter mile from the ocean… SERIOUSLY?!?! Please honor your loved ones in another way. Don’t harm ocean life and wildlife. I’m sure your loved one would appreciate that more. Appreciate nature and stop putting garbage on a shrub!"
"Thankfully someone cleaned the garbage off this bush. It’s litter and trash. It does not honor anyone but it does hurt wildlife. Stop trashing nature “in memory” and do things that actually honor people like cleaning up and keeping nature pristine. If they loved the beach keep it clean for them."
"We added the "shell tree" to our list of stops for our spring break trip this past weekend and it was a complete disappointment. My 10 year old was so looking forward to adding a special shell to it but the tree has basically been destroyed. These pictures were taken 4/2/23 just after sunrise there."
"The local around here have been continuing this Sea tree for 15 years now. Legend says it’s a wishing tree. Everyone have shared their memories on a seas shell or a sand dollar and hang it on this Christmas tree as ornament. Either for luck, for love, health and happiness! Come and share yours!"
