"The Second Greatest Commandment declared by the Lord Himself, says: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." It is disheartening that St. Agnes, as a Catholic School and a Community Church, would be so hateful to their own (literal) neighbors. Someone from St. Agnes called a tow truck on my brother's truck because it was barely touching the yellow line in front of their exit. There was still at least 25 feet to get out of the parking lot. While it may have been my brother's truck, it was my mother who parked it there who didn't realize she had done so. My brother is currently incarcerated and my mom moved out of her house and into his in order to help him out. Not only that, but she started taking care of my brother's 9 year old son, which is difficult as any 9 year old boy is. Oh, she also leaves work everyday from 2-4 to take my grandma, her mom, to cancer treatment. And while she is doing tall that to take care of her family, she is making regular visits to my brother to support him, and also being a kind and generous mother to me. You see, the reason this upsets me is because a simple note on the windshield to move before the event would have sufficed. She would have moved it... no problem. But instead, the crew at St. Agnes laughed at the truck being towed and waved at in hilarity as if they had done some righteous Christian work. Instead, my mother had to pay $105 to get the truck out of tow, leave work to get it and then I had to leave work to follow her home. She cried on the way home letting me know that was the money she was going to spend on my daughter and my nephew for Christmas. I just do not understand how a Christian Organization can be so cruel and hasty towards their very own literal neighbors. My questions are: Don't you want to build up your neighborhood? Don't you want to make people feel loved and welcome just as Jesus did for you? Should we Christians be practicing what we preach? How can we claim His blood and therefore call ourselves saved if we can't even stop to think how one hasty, impatient decision can affect the rest of the world? Is that not what God calls us to do? To be patient, kind, understanding, loving, grateful, etc etc the list goes on and on. Wouldn't you want to build your congregation from your neighborhood? Don't you want people to see Jesus shine through you? There were other options to address the situation: The crew from St. Agnes could have slipped a note under the wiper blades letting her know she can't park there... or they could have asked the other neighbors if they had the owner's number. , or even more simply just waited until my mother got home and asked her to move. I hope you are not reacting the same way you did yesterday in front of children and/or impressionable adults because what is that teaching tomorrow's youth? That we can laugh at people, give them hardship and remain righteous and justified in ourselves? It is both saddening and pathetic that a church who claims to love Jesus can be so downright ugly. How is St. Agnes putting good into the world when they are out here laughing at the expense of others??"
"We just visited the Parish grounds and I just had to share the pictures of the Tulip Poplar tree that stands on the corner of Saint Agnes Catholic Church grounds."
