"Do not go to Chestnut if you need a regular health doctor… I know most people would already know that’s a given, but I did not. I had the absolute worst experience with Dr. short at the Maryville location. The entire time she made me feel absolutely stupid and didn’t listen to a single thing I had to say. Not only did she not address my concerns but I have never experienced such terrible communication with a doctors office in my life. The very next day after seeing her only one time, she prescribed me a medication that I was prescribed before when I was a bit younger that did not work well with me and was not the answers to my solution. She would’ve known that if she talked to me about prescribing an entire medication before actually prescribing it, but I had to find out by Walgreens. After that, the very next day she had some bloodwork done, not the bloodwork I requested for and denied me to even have my blood tested in the way that I requested even though my concern is something that runs in my family and I need to check for the markers Because I was told by previous doctors that I have signs pointing towards something I should get checked for. Not only did she deny me to get tested for it, but she pretty much laughed at me and told me that all I should do is just change my diet and work out…. That’s another thing she would’ve never said if she knew anything about me, I am a personal trainer who watches what I eat every single day of my life… Telling me to lose weight and go on a low-fat diet when I already have an amazing meal plan was just insane. This doctor did not seem educated one bit, but also just made me feel dumb when SHE What is the one not even listening to the insight I had about my own body and what goes on and who wants that from a doctor. Leslie, I just got a $500 bill in the mail With the incorrect insurance listed telling me that my insurance was denied when they didn’t even have my insurance on file they put some random insurance on file. When they had this bloodwork done, Not even the bloodwork I requested but the most basic bloodwork panel test done that I’ve done 1 million times before, they told me my insurance would cover it so to be sent a $500 denial due date Invoice in the mail was my last straw… The blood workplace was really nice and fixed the insurance and said that it was pulling from an insurance that wasn’t accepted that wasn’t even my insurance. it’s really not good for a doctors office to be that unorganized, it just goes to prove all of the rest of the concerns I was having about this facility and the fact that she treated me completely terrible and didn’t communicate with me at all. One more sidenote when I calledchestnut to ask about that random prescription they prescribed me nurse picked up and when I told her I’m not taking this medication it’s not one that works with me and it’s not accurate for me, I’ve tried it before and it was not the answers and I’ve been tested for what you guys are trying to test me for and it came up negative, so why can’t you guys just listen to me and give me the peace of mind and test me for what I actually want to be tested for the nurse just kept talking over me. It would not even let me speak and told me that I need to just listen to the doctor and work out more and eat a better diet.. That’s the last Thing I need to be worried About, but I guess she would’ve known that if she actually listened to me when I said I’m a personal trainer who works out every day following a very personalized healthy meal plan. I immediately went to a different doctor at Anderson and have had nothing but an amazing experience. It’s not hard to have a good experience with a doctor, just simply don’t laugh at your clients and make them feel dumb… Maybe you’ll find more answers if you actually communicate better with your. I just can’t express how disappointed I was with my experience and I simply just want to help guide the next person that is lost, looking for a new healthcare provider"
"JUST DO IT!! This facility was absolutely wonderful. Everything was nice and clean. Well maintained and all the amenities, included. It was never a problem to use the laundry room. Wash whatever needed to be washed you could take a shower whenever you felt necessary. Food and snacks galore. By the way, the food was pretty good, but they had movies games. You go to the gym every morning. Just everything you need to get in practice of living a healthy life And the staff is just amazing. If you have an open mind an open heart and you are ready and willing to change your life. These are the people that will help you do it it is not just a job to them them. They have lived it or lived with it in one fashion or another and they understand. they have compassion and empathy and they really want to see you succeed. The resources they have access to are amazing They will help you find a safe place to go if necessary after your treatment. there's just so much they will help you with but let me make it clear they will help you. They will not do it for you. You will have to do the leg work but they will help you. If it's out there they will help you or find someone who will help you get what you need. A lot of them spend their own time and money to make the experience More enjoyable and to take the edge off the seriousness sometimes. Far above and beyond what they have to do for sure. Just exceptional people I can say I did not have one bad experience. Some days I loved it. Some days I didn't want to be there but everyday I learned something whether I realized or not and sometimes it took a while to accept the truth but they were always there to talk to help to cheer you up. I laughed more than I have in years when you're in a room with people who have all been there, done that and you start telling stories. You just can't help but laugh sometimes the stupid things we do as addicts but you realize you're not alone and the past is the past tomorrow is a new day and it'll all be okay just take it one day at a time . There are so many people who made a difference in my life that I will never forget I can't possibly mention everyone by name but I would like to say thank you to all of you at Chestnut I would not be sitting here today with 3 months sober without you! I hope this helps someone Make the decision to better their self BE WELL AND GOD BLESS!"
"In a world of so much hardship and despair these people help change so many lives for the better, including my own. I am so grateful for Chestnut."
"Once again it has happened. When you think you’re calling the office you’re not your calling a call center. They ask what your appointment is for? I said well with all due respect that’s my business and she hung up on me. Really? I called back and same woman answered and I said that it wasn’t any of her business what my problem is I need to change my appointment. She then immediately patched me into Maryville office. So she didn’t need to know what my problem was after all."
"Overall a great system. I went in there with a raging addiction and I didn’t want to get clean I just wanted to go home. Though I didn’t have the desire to get clean it didn’t help me at the time. But when the moment came that I realized a change in lifestyle was mandatory. I did change. And I think about my time spent there all the time. The skills I picked up, the relationships I cultivated. Overall if you have the desire, the aptitude, and the drive to make a change. This place is a helpful start. You got this! -thank you Bob, Terri, Cheryl, DJ, Big Time, and the rest of the staff"
