"We were 700 miles from home on our way to a week long vacation when my spouse experienced severe pain in the middle of the night. We googled and found the Parkridge ER was 4 minutes from our hotel right off the highway. They were seen within 10 minutes and given pain relief soon after. Due to their medical history, there was no clear cut cause for the pain but the doctors and nurses here were empathetic, kind, responsive, and were able to send a script to a 24 hour pharmacy for preventative meds. My spouse was able to continue on our journey, armed with the preventative meds, and we were able to enjoy our vacation. We are so thankful to the amazing staff that helped us in the middle of the night and in an unfamiliar part of the country. They went above and beyond their duty."
"My ER experience was definitely not a good experience. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the care that was needed. I felt every measure should have been taken in my situation, but wasn't. I was rushed and not given a full exam to aid the issue at hand. I still had to go somewhere else to be seen. My ER visit should have taken X-rays and especially an ultrasound of my ankle. The doctor looked at my leg and felt he didn't want or need to do anything just by looking on the outside of my ankle. He didn't care what was going on in the inside of my ankle. Now, I was told that I may have a stress fracture. This was a $250 visit for nothing..only for me to and pay another medical center. I very unsatisfied with this visit."
"I've had nothing but good experiences at this hospital. Doctor's and nurses who listen to me and my concerns. They didn't just brush my worries under the carpet like I'm making things up. After visiting two other hospitals for over 4yrs and being told there was nothing wrong with me and no test being done, I went to the ER at Park ridge and the doctor's listened to me and ran numerous test and found out that I had diverticulitis. And apparently I have had it for years. I was admitted to the hospital and had part of my intestines removed. If not for them I may not be here now."
"Worst care I’ve ever had. I left after waiting for hours for a nurse to start an IV. I was only acknowledged after calling the charge nurse from my cell phone. I was placed in a sub waiting room with nothing to throw up in or a place to lay down. The NP, Ashley rolled her eyes at me when I showed her the discharge papers from Parkridge east the day prior because I had an abnormal CT scan and was sent home with morphine and other meds which I could not keep down. I let her know I chose Parkridge main because my GI doctor is there but she didn’t care. I let and went back to Parkridge east where I was treated like a human and got proper medical care."
"I was in the waiting room for less than an hour so that part was okay. Once I did get back was not pleasant at all. I had gone in because it felt like I had a lung issue. I was hurting all around my chest. They literally took me for an EKG. Then one chest ex-ray. I sat in a recliner chair and they took 4 vials of blood. About 3 hours later they took two more vials. The only time I saw a doctor was to tell me I was okay and could go home. She did not offer to examine me at all, not even a listen with a stethoscope. I would say my experience was a total failure. I have not been to an ER for over 20 years. What a let down this was. I felt I was treated with a total lack of respect. Should I ever need to go again I will go to Memorial. I have always got respect there."
