"From beginning to end this was NOT a good experience! We just moved out of state, a 670 mile journey. So many things broken, boxes and crates smashed. With no boxes labeled, numbered or properly inventoried we are still trying to locate stuff. It’s bad when you are scared to open another box, not wanting to see what else has been treated with so little regard. Why the hell would a moving truck filled with our entire belongings leave the Bay Area and instead of going those 670 north, we find out they went to Los Angeles and transferred all of our stuff into different trucks that delivered 2 days late. I think it’s fishy as hell when we are told our final payment can only be paid with cash or money order. We had signed our contract with one company, apparently they brokered it to Master Movers without telling us. Then Master Movers before they even started working gave my husband a totally different contract to sign, which wasn’t even brought to my attention ahead of time. Our original quote was $6900 End total (after stuff loaded) was over $19,000!!!!!! How can this even happen? I wish I hadn’t been feeling ill that day and had seen what was going down. We feel taken advantage of, lied to and it was a simple bait and switch!!! I will be filing our formal complaints. Everything I stated is true. Unfortunately an expensive mistake!"
"This is the worst moving company I have worked with. You are their best friend when you start and then come pickup time and delivery you are there enemy. Was given a bid and advised the person on the other end that they were not sending enough trucks to pick up my home. She advised me that it had been determined that they had plenty of room. They show up and have to go get another truck. My bid doubled.. Secondly, they said they would not sell my load to another carrier and it was sold to somebody else for delivery. Upon delivery, The delivery person would not even unload the truck until I signed the paperwork that everything had been received. The men that showed up to help were obviously intoxicated. Items were just thrown and broken. We found several items from our load, including a brand new generator that were not delivered , But since I signed that it wasn’t missing when delivered I won’t be paid for that item. Now the claim has been put in for several months and they don’t want to pay me. They don’t want to send the check. For the small amount that I’m getting paid for most of my items that were broken is unheard of. I recommend that You do not use this Company. If you were going to use somebody have them come out to your home and give you a bid do not have them do it all over the phone. It is deceiving when they get to your home and want to charge you double of what wad quoted. And will not unload the truck when you tell him I’m not paying. These guys are scammers, ripoff artist, worthless scum of the Earth"
"I had a very disappointing experience with this moving company. Initially, they quoted me $2,700 for my move, but when they arrived, they charged me an additional $1,000. They never clearly mentioned the $400 shuttle fee, which they later insisted was in the contract, but I did not realize it. This unexpected fee and other charges brought the total cost of my move to over $4,000, which was much more than I had budgeted for. Moreover, the service was subpar. They were supposed to handle all the unboxing and boxing for me, but they left trash everywhere and did not complete the job as promised. Additionally, when they assembled my bed, they did a poor job – the assembly is really loose and not secure. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received and would not recommend this company to anyone. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and substandard service make them an unreliable choice for moving needs."
"Master moving is the most disorganized and unprofessional moving company I’ve ever dealt with. I started the process of scheduling my July move in May. I received a quote of 1,594.36 and paid my initial deposit of $429.00 when the movers showed up to my house they then charged me and extra $1,000! And said that the move was not calculated correctly and that it was going over the 220sq ft allotment for my stuff. They then took my items back to a warehouse in CA before it was shipped to my final destination on the east coast and no one ever bothered to explain this process or mention that it would be over two weeks before I received my items. Not to mention that every time I called their dispatch department was extremely rude especially Brenda. Oh and don’t forget they will claim that that they do all of the move themselves, they do not they used a third party as to complete the move. Use AirTags bc that’s the only way you’ll even know where your stuff is. They also lost almost all of my clothes in the move and just told me to file a claim that was my only option, and they damaged multiple pieces of furniture and did not care. Not to mention that when their third part arrived they refused to leave a receipt and made an absolute mess of my house, used the bathroom and left mud everywhere in a new house and told me that I was overreacting because I had four boxes missing. This company needs to be shut down. You cannot charge people for this type of service. I’m out over a thousand dollars more than I was quoted in addition to all of my lost clothes and damaged items I have to now replace. For anyone looking to move pay the extra money to go with a reputable company not these unprofessional thieves and liars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY"
"Do not book Master Movers for ANY services. I have moved 4 times in 5 years, always used movers for packing, loading and unloading and have never had such an infuriating experience. First, they will under quote you online only to show up and then demand cash after more than doubling the original quote. They know that at that point, they are your only option and essentially hold you hostage. Literally, the cash demand was over double the original quote once everything was loaded into the truck. They say it is based on cubic feet but provide illegible or no documentation to show that to be the case. The unwillingness to take a credit card should be a major red flag. I wish it had been as vivid for me as it should have. I gave specific directions to the packing team as to the challenges I have had with other moves to make all of our lives easier. They agreed, but in reality followed none. I called the office inquiring about anticipated delivery dates so I can arrange my Airbnb and work life but got no timeframe on the first call and then never received a return call on the second inquiry. To their credit, they did arrive with my items only 6 days after pickup in California. However, I was called in the morning of the delivery and asked if I was available. I stated I could be there at 3pm (after leaving first day of work early) and would call him when I was one hour out. The "Supervisor" Travis on the phone ended the call with they will be there between 1p and 3p. I them received a text from the driver saying they would be there at 12pm to which I responded I would not be available until after 2pm. I show up between 2pm and 3pm and was aggressively confronted with them needing payment by cash or check before they unload anything. They already had $12,000 from me for a move quoted at $6,500. I explain again that I did not have time to grab the cash ($5,000) and was told we could Venmo/Zelle (again, another red flag). I even spoke to Travis again and he was less than professional and threatened to return my goods to storage and charge me a fee. Of course, neither payment service would work for whatever reason. I go to the bank, transfer money from my online bank to local bank to give them cash. During this, I get a call from the driver saying I was going to be charged a $150 waiting fee. The company owner even called me and yelled at me for making his team wait for "hours" for me to arrive. I corrected him on the timeline at which point he conferenced in Travis who had clearly not been honest in his depiction of the situation to the Owner. Once the team started off loading, I became more concerned. Most of the boxes looked like they had been poorly packed, stored and damaged. Every box contained at least one broken item. Most of the furniture was damaged in some form. Parts were missing from some items. It was at this time it was clear why they did not accept credit cards. They know they are running a scam on all fronts. While they did pickup and deliver the items, they caused thousands of dollars of damage to my goods with careless packing, storage and transport. The have no care for a persons items and their business practices are very shady and cause for concern. In summary - They underquote to get you scheduled, load your life onto a truck, double the price while holding your items hostage, refuse to accept credit cards, then after all this, you get most of your stuff back damaged. I can't imagine how the management of this company is able to stay in business knowing how they ruin peoples lives at vulnerable times. Please see pictures attached and as stated, under no circumstance should you use Master Movers for any moving services. You will regret it. I certainly do."
