Reviews
"There are two women that work at the parking office that I usually end up seeing when I go there and they are both incredibly kind and helpful!! I have only had good experiences with this office, all credit to the excellent staff."
"Beware the parkmobile app. Used it yesterday for about an hour. Got back to the car and went to stop the session and it said I didn't have any parking sessions. Later I get a bill for 6.60 for parking at that meter for the full time. Called parkmobile and they said they couldn't help because the money goes directly to the city. Huh? Called the parking department and get the message to call back later. What's with that? Why don't they get a machine so you can leave a message. Stupid. Oh BTW the app couldn't locate my meter. I had to get the number off the meter and put it in the search box before it found it. Both parkmobile and the city need to work on it."
"Updated 3 star review: I called the office yesterday and Claudia was very helpful, she explained all they do at the office is process the paperwork but have no power over what happens. She gave me the direct numbers for those who do make the decision, the manager who upheld my ticket as well as the guy in charge, Ted. I called them both and left very annoyed messages basically restating the ridiculousness of the situation and demanding they get back to me. Ted emailed me right away to say he would be reviewing all of the information, talked to the alleged officer and would call me today. And he did! He confirmed that the woman who approached me was in fact a parking officer, but also that she admitted to not being in any identifying garments when she approached me, and he said they would be dismissing the citation given it's the first one I've ever received! I live in San Jose and if something like this happened here, I know I wouldn't have been able to get these people on the phone, so I do appreciate the accessibility of this office and the people working there. But this "officer #7" (they wouldn't tell me her name) should find a job she's better suited for, because this isn't it! Initial 1 star review: I received a letter in the mail, a reminder for a citation that I was never issued after an incident near the boardwalk where I pulled over near a red curb to let my mother out of the car. A random woman approached my vehicle telling me I was parked in a red spot, I said thanks, she said "come on," never identifying herself as anyone at all. In fact, I saw an actual parking "officer" drive by at the same time so I had no reason to believe she was connected to the city at all. A moment later my mom got back in the car and I drove away as this crazy lady took a picture of my car. I contested this fraudulent citation because how can I be told to pay a parking citation I never received?? They responded saying my citation was being upheld because the "officer" told me to move my car, and then "issued a citation after a period of 10 minutes." This is just a flat out lie. I now see from the reviews that this is pretty on brand for Santa Cruz county! What the hell? Will never pay to park in this county again, would rather give my money to Lyft and that's saying something."
"No one likes to deal with these guys but it’s not the worst experience. Long lines when they open on mondays."
