"I entered into an agreement with Evelyn at Beach & Bay Realty to purchase a boat slip at the Harbor-side Boat Club, May 16th. We agreed on a price and I was trying to decide whether to use my LLC or personal name due to concerns over my liability insurance and how the dock was to be covered. I attempted on several occasions to get a copy of their certificate of insurance liability because I was concerned over insurance coverage. Evelyn was extremely aggressive and kept stating" I don't know why you are so concerned, no one else has ever questioned this". I stated I was not everyone else and I simply needed to make sure that I was covered properly from an insurance perspective. Last Friday, I told her to just keep the contract in my personal name and I would close as quickly as they would like. They deposited my check on 5-17-2016 which ironically was also the day they provided me a copy of their insurance certificate. After, speaking to their insurance agent, I confirmed what I had initially thought and that was I was not covered by their policy unless I had my own liability policy. I told Evelyn that information and that I was working on an insurance policy. Late Friday, I was included on an email to Title Agency of Florida telling them to simply refund me my money. I sent numerous emails asking what was going on and could not get anyone to respond. Finally, this Monday I am told via email by Phyllis Miller that Evelyn has stated she has two other people making offers and then proceeds to offer me the same identical boat slip next door to the one I have the contract on for $21,000.00 more!!!! My brother entered into a transaction several years ago to purchase a condominium and had a similar experience with these people, he warned me and I should have listened to him!!!! I have NEVER seen anything like this. It blows my mind that they think this type of behavior is acceptable. I will be filing formal complaints. She now has her attorney threatening me for defamation of character because I posted this review."
