"The architecture is gorgeous, no doubt about it. I highly recommend looking at the town if you are nearby. It is stunning. Staying in the rental homes is another matter. For now, it is like taking a vacation at a construction site. There are so many construction projects going on that we were woken up at 7 am, six days a week. The building was shaking. And then, it was still going on at 7 pm when we tried to watch the sunset. The loud construction vehicles and sawing creates constant, deafening noise. We loved Caliza Pool, which you can only access if you stay in the homes. That is a magical place! I hate to give such a bad rating, but the reservation is Non-Refundable! On top of that, our bill had a $900 error that was not resolved for more than 40 days later. And that was only after me calling non-stop. It was due to multiple mistakes. The Lucian is beautiful, but the furniture is uncomfortable. It was so squishy that we never, ever used it. We pictured lounging and reading. We splurged to try to have a relaxing, peaceful vacation. Peaceful is the last thing I would say about the entire area right now."

"I was very disappointed with my stay at Alys Beach. It is a beautiful town, but there is so much construction right now that it ruined our stay. We chose Alys Beach for our vacation because it was advertised as a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing little haven. Without the construction I bet it would be; but we were not expecting our entire vacation to be filled with loud construction on all sides, six days a week, some only a few feet from our bedroom windows. The rental homes are not worth the price right now if you are hoping for a quiet, peaceful vacation. There were also multiple issues with our reservation and bill that made the whole experience a disappointment. We made our reservation online, and then called later to add a few days to the beginning of our trip. I was assured we could add the days for the same nightly rate as our previous reservation. When we did not receive an email confirmation I called again a few days later to find out that the reservation for the extra nights had not been made! I double checked the nightly rate, was told it would be the same for all nights, and finally the nights were added. After all that, the rate was wrong when we received our bill, with an almost thousand dollar extra charge for those nights! I spoke to a manager right away, but over a month later, and after many follow up calls, we still have not been reimbursed! It is all quite frustrating. The one thing that was very enjoyable was the Caliza Pool, which is for Alys Beach owners and guests only. The pool is fantastic and the food was delicious. At the moment, with all the construction and the lack of coordination and responsiveness from Guest Services, I would not recommend staying at Alys Beach."
