Compass Lake In the Hills

"Stayed there over Thanksgiving week. At the campground. All was good till I went to use the shower. The men's campground restroom. Call to talk to management of my concerns. No call back from management. I'm a property owner. At compass lake in the hills. So I followed up to talk to the manager today. He said that there was a work order to fix it. When do you need a work order? To clean a bathroom. At The campers are paying to use at a campground. Ask to check the bathrooms before you book. I wish I took a picture to post. The mole was bad and needs a new shower curtain. Didn't look to be cleaned and sometime. Manager said he knew. There was a work order."

"We Rented Both Sides Of The Lake House. It Was One Of The Best Times I've Had In A Long Time. Lake Was Amazing And The Bar Had Great Food And Live Music. Great Fireworks Show And Nighttime Boat Show. Will Definitely Do It Again"

"Had a wonderful weekend, beautiful view, nice cold clean cabin, customer service was amazing. Checking in was easy, checking out was a breeze. If we needed anything it was there. Highly recommend staying. Also we are at Ollie’s restaurant and the food was top notch. We did not visit the other restaurant on the water but it is not connected with Compass lake."

"I'm sorry to say but it isn't what it use to be. The cabins are out dated and musty smelling. The club house is locked when the office is closed which is most of the time. The call back for information is very slow and sometimes not at all. Monica that works in the office was great but this place could be a gem if it was managed well. basket ball courts have grass growing in the concrete. We use to go there in the 1990 and 2000 and they had horseback riding, a pool table in the club house and a restaurant that served breakfast lunch and dinner. Ole's was closed the whole time we were there. (Saturday till Thursday) and I'm warning you, if you want to eat there you better make reservations 24 hours in advance and they are only open Wednesday to Saturday for dinner only. The Cove was closed the day we got there(Saturday) and never opened until Wednesday night. We loved going there back in the day to spend time with our kids and use the amenities but unfortunately there really aren't much amenities left. The road are horrible as well. We will not be back here again ever."

"The location is beautiful, the scenery is breathtaking but the cabins, roads and amenities are far from good. The 2 restaurants were both closed the days we were there (Saturday to Thursday) Had to go out to find lunch and dinner. We use to stay in the cabins back in the 1990 till 2015 but that's when they had horseback riding, boat rentals of all kinds and a pool table in the clubhouse and 3 meals a day served in the restaurant 7 days a week. Now the clubhouse is lock when the office is closed so there are no more amenities to speak of. The only person that was helpful was Monica that works in the office, but now they only open a few hours in the morning and then a 2 hour lunch and closed by 4:30pm. This place would still be a gem if it was managed properly. Sorry to say we will never be back."
