"If you have a complex case involving multiple comorbidities (especially hEDS, POTS, and mast cell issues that are not MCAD) don’t go here. You will be told they can’t help you and that they don’t have experience with these issues. They wouldn’t even be able to refer you to a doctor who can help due to their lack of education and recent research on these matters I strongly encourage the NM immunology doctors, particularly Dr. Grammer, to read recent MCAS/hEDS/POTS studies that’s have emerged in the last three years. NIH is a great resource for connective tissue, immuno issues and how they are related. Peer reviewed articles are great too, and yes, in the last 3-5 years, there are some really great resources y’all would benefit greatly from reading."
"I was able to make an appt a couple months after I went into anaphylaxis from an injection, but they only tested steroids I can use if I need any for future treatment & told me to wait until covid slowed to test anesthetics. Covid has been slowed down & when I had my 1st appt while covid was still high, they had several people in there testing for simple stuff such as dust mites, while I've waited almost a year to get any treatment for my medical conditions because they were taking in patients with simple, common allergies while they've made me wait almost a year to get tested so I can get medical treatment I need."
"Dr. Bhakti Patel is hand down one of the best doctors I’ve ever met in my life. She’s very knowledgeable, courteous, she shared ideas and she’s very resourceful. She didn’t rush me, she gave me feedback and was very thorough with me. You can tell that she truly cares about her patients. She acts with skill and wisdom. Dr. Patel put me at ease and I am very blessed to have her as my allergist."
